You can always go to philosophy and use the whole primal mover idea. That it's not plausible to keep tracing something back to an origin or you'll be in infinite regression .

EDIT: I guess I'll actually respond to the post:

Let's rephrase this. "People exploiting religion is the biggest scam on the planet."

Where does image suggest power .

EDIT 2: In regard to the last quote, this is why some translations of the bible use "likeness" instead of "image." It helps to clarify it a bit better, although personally I never had trouble understanding the use of "image."

<zoolander>I'll answer your question with another question</zoolander> Where did atoms come from? If you have to assume that atoms have been here forever, you have to be able to assume God has been here forever.

It is more logical that there is NOT an infinite loop of creation but an ultimate creator. That would be God. He always was and will always be.

God was created a few thousand years ago when humans started believing in him. Logic.

The OP comes close to making some decent points, but his 4th grade writing technique sort of kills the moment.

We must of evolved with the earth because the simple fact is fruits and vegetables are good for us. we should of stuck to those but we got greedy and moved onto meat.

That part is stupid...and ironic since you're arguing for evolution.

Well no duh... a good portion of the world is still believing words written in a book over 2000 years ago with little change. That to me is the opposite of progress.

His writing is the least of his problems. His attempt at logic displays a woeful ignorance of his chosen topics.

Science seeks to find the truth about the natural world. To claim that we know the truth now would be just as ridiculous as Gallileo or Newton claiming that they knew the truth centuries ago.

QFT... Believe it or not science is not a recent development...there have always been scientists (those who try to find truth about the natural world) and there have always been generations of scientists after them who prove what they thought to be "true" just isn't quite right. This generation of scientists is no more "right" than the last, and following generations will disprove much of what they deem "true" today.

I have a brother with cancer who is in his last months of chemotherapy as a follow up to brain surgery and radiation treatment. Anyone think that in 100 years we'll saw holes in someone's head, then give them poisinous doses of radiation and drug cocktails as a "cure" for cancer???

Explain why we have canines and other sharp teeth that give us the ability to tear flesh. If we were supposed to stick only to vegetables then we'd have all molars such as a brontasaurus or giraffe

i agree. being a better person is more important than being a religious DI&K

personally it hink releigion is great. I just think the church is the biggest scam ever. Its all about money and control.

strip out a lot of the crap in the bible and you are left with a good basic outline of how you should live your life. it also has good stories on how to do it.

By the way, meat is good for you too. Humans are omnivores, able to eat and digest both meat and plants. If the meat is prepared in an unhealthy manner, thats not the fault of the meat. You can just as easily prepare fruits and veggies in an unhealthy manner.

Agree on all points. It seems to me that in the millenia leading up to the agricultural revolution (i.e. the birth of civilization) we were evolving (slowly) towards being pure carnivores - and well on the way. It seems that process was frozen when agriculture gave us access to an abundance of meat and veggies. Leaving us at an inbetween state, we are omnivores, which is pretty good for us as a whole. Note, I'm not weighing on the morality of anything, just my observations.

i'm only saying that if you had to choose between a guy that was a DI*K but very religious and an agnostic person that was amazingly nice and thoughtful i'd go with the latter

i'm not saying religious people are DI*Ks by any means. Sorry if that was unclear

Well, that seems pretty obvious . When it comes to interaction, the "taste" that we get from other people's attitudes tend to weigh in a lot more than their religion.

Science is a methodology for knowledge acquisition. Not a belief system about "the truth." Kindly don't twist science into a religion. I find it offensive. Thank you.
