Just went through with this deal to get my wife the Sims 3. I'll also activate BF3 with her email and hope she gives it a shot and plays with me.

Question: So since you get a Steam and Origin key for some of the same games, is this essentially getting two copies of said games since you can activate each game on both services ?

You only need Origin installed for the games that only have Origin keys.

If you install the Steam version of the game, Origin is not involved.

So if you activate on Steam, does that mean your Origin keys are useless (or can be gifted)?

Not at all.

Notice how in this bundle, for most of the games you get an Origin key AND a Steam key. You are getting two separate copies of each game.

Is it worth paying $5 for this for battlefield 3 and Sims 3? I'm non really into fps games and I never played the sims before.

Guess I'm paying $5 then. Even if I don't enjoy the games that much at least of helped donate something to charity.

Hey guys, I have a quick question. Never used Origin before, old Steam user. When I try to create an Origin account for BF3, it says "this e-mail address has already been registered." I never used or created an Origin account before, so I'm mystified. Anyone know the problem?

Memory is hazy, but I think they converted old EA accounts into Origin accounts at some point.

It means you've already registered for an EA account sometime in the past. Use the password recovery tool if you can't remember your login information.

Ah wow, that must have been a LOOOONG time ago, because I can't even remember it.

Thanks!

I needed to reinstall Origin but their download site for the .exe is down right now - anyone able to throw the installer file onto a Google drive or something?

Would be appreciated

OK, I just used the password reset button for my e-mail address. Now I get an e-mail in Brazilian saying EA and Origin, but nothing from EA! Checked all 3 Gmail folders, checked my Spam folder, nothing! WTF?

Is there a way to contact Origin about this?

A humongous thank you to everyone for making the Humble Origin Bundle a great success! The bundle has already reached $1 million in sales in just 2.5 hours!

Are the charity tax-deductible?

While I'm a CPA, please do not take this as tax advice.

My opinion is that the IRS would allow you to only deduct the amount of your "contribution" that is in excess of the 'value of goods and services received'. Many nonprofits will tell you what this value is. But in this case Humble Bundle is silent.

I think you would have a hard time justifying to the IRS that you received less value from all of those games than what you paid for them (especially considering their recent retail prices).

So short answer: no
