Does anything make AC better than AA, or is the gameplay basically the same?

AC is more open, you get to glide around a lot more, some say the combat is improved, too. But AA is much more focused and, at least to me, has the superior atmosphere and feeling of batman adventure. AC goes a bit overboard with everything and pays the price.

they're both well worth getting, though. really, really great games.

oh, you can also play as catwoman in AC. quite cool, this, really.

I just played this last night (for the 1st time) and what a great/fun game this is!!

I've never really been into Batman - you know, because he isn't a superhero - but I have heard rave reviews about AA and AC. I picked this up yesterday and played AA for about an hour. The atmosphere is impressive.. but there are elements that make me think this game is designed for kids. This includes every single piece of UI, including "Detective Mode", and the gameplay is anything but challenging thus far. I might invest a bit more time into it to see if the story hooks me, but so far I'm surprisingly unimpressed.

I think that Nolan's batmans are for kids, and this here is the real deal!

jokes aside, AA and AC sport thick comics atmosphere, AA especially so. And comics are a special kind of deal - their worlds are almost always brighter, more intense and fuller of contrasts than the factual reality, and this might inspire some for-kids like allusions, but I would say that believing that is making a huge mistake and denying yourself some really wonderful experiences, that might appeal kids, but this part of the appeal is just a side-effect, with core audience definitely being adults.
(also, due to portrayed violence, legally none of these games are for kids, and they were designed that way, so...)

Even though the batman games ARE NOT HARD, they are still fun to play and experience. The riddles in AA were very fun to me, as well as finding hints to other enemies in the lore although they were not present in the game.

if you only care about difficulty, play super meat boy
but nevertheless, yeah, Batman games are somewhat easy, play it on the hardest difficulty possible

Agreed, the Batman games aren't really high on the difficulty level, but the combat is still fun and flows well. Solving puzzles and collecting the "?"s was pretty interesting as well. The only downside to these games was there was virtually no replayability.

I already own bastion but I didn't have any of the bundled games, almost bought both batman games last week though lol.

One of the best HBs so far IMHO.

Just started playing through F.E.A.R 3 in co-op with a buddy and it is really good.
