I just tried Hummus for the 1st time. It was Sabra brand, original flavor. I didn't think it was anything special. actually tasted quite bland. Would rather have a cheese dip.

So whats the big deal with hummus? why is it so popular?

It tastes good. If you make thicker hummus, you can make falafel out of it. That's good too.

Regular, plain, hummus was bland... you don't say.
You need to add stuff to it to make it good, otherwise it is a semi healthy dip or spread when homemade.
The stuff you got well... not so much.

you rather have cheese dip than hummus? I don't know if you understand the concept of hummus. among many other things

Just picked up some sabra buy 1 get 1 free @ publix!

I like the "supremely spicy", you're right though the plain kind is nothing great.

Try the supremely spicy variety. Add some crushed red pepper for some extra kick. if you don't like it at that point you never will. I have two containers in the fridge and going to buy 2 more this weekend (BOGO free).

Hummus is amazing. i make my own but Sabra is really good. I prefer the original plain flavor.

Were you eating pita bread with it? Crackers and hummus don't do it man. It's got to be pita bread.

Spruce it up with a spice you like. Hummus is way healthier than cheese dip.

It does have a light flavor, but I love it. A lot of younger people's taste buds are blown out from "OMG SUPER XTRA BLAST FLAVOR" products and they can't taste some of the lighter stuff.

Baba Foods makes some great flavored hummus. I love their avocado & cilantro hummus. They sell it at Costco from time to time.

A lot of everyone is like that. Subtlety is lost on many people.

The Sabra tuscan herb one with black pepper triscut crackers is delicious. It's a light flavor. We plow through the jumbo size tubs of it every other week.

Hummus is all about the spices and like with most products, commercial hummus is woefully underseasoned. If you buy Sabra plain, add some extra cumin and garlic, a pinch of cayenne, some salt and a drizzle of good olive oil. It will make a world of difference. Or just make your own.

I don't think I've tried pretzels with hummus, but you should definitely give pita chips or raw vegetables a try with hummus. Those are good combos.

I don't care for Sabra's plain hummus. Their roasted garlic hummus however, is garlic awesomeness.
