Its not surprising a blow hard maniac would fake his own death and run away.
The cowardly exit as it were.
I know of one other similar fellow that under the same circumstances would no doubt do the exact same thing.
And he is currently running for US president under the republican banner.
Anyone care to guess?

A powerful evil git like hitler more than likely had a big escape plan and he probably did escape! Killing himself i dont think would have been on the cards.

It doesn't make sense that he would have stayed in Berlin that long during the final weeks and then run at the last moment.

Seems like evidence suggests he is dead as they matched up xrays from his teeth to the jaw / teeth that the Russians had!

Last episode was pretty good, assuming that the part about the sub wasn't a cock tease. Spain was interesting just from a historical perspective. I had no idea about Franco and Hitler.

I also liked that they used radar to verify that the tunnel from Templehof really did go all the way to the U6 subway tunnel.

Hitler had 2 rings of anti-tank defenses around the center of Berlin where the bunker was. So even with Berlin surrounded and the first ring broken by the Soviets, he still would have had time to take the tunnels to the airport and escape.

The details about the planes were also interesting. Hitler had 20 of them if I heard correctly and each had a range of 2200 miles. So he could have easily moved a lot of people, gold, etc from Berlin to Spain even at the last moment.

The thing about this that confuses me is that you are this all powerful, famous, and feared person that could completely disappear and become powerless doesn't seem to make sense.

Oh sure I am sure Allied air defenses are going to let that go down any day of the week.

I think it was just the Russians that surrounded Berlin. Wasn't that what the whole E-W Berlin thing about?

I don't know much about WWII except for documentaries, but would there have been any need for AAA? The German air force was gone at this point with Templehof probably being the only exception. And I can't see the Russians wasting resources on anti-aircraft when they knew they'd be taking the airport.

There was still radar. Even if the US wasn't in Berlin, I think someone would have noticed a small fleet of planes. This makes the sub thing more likely, but goes back to my previous point, how could he going from being supremely famous and noticed to everyone thinking he was dead. Also, wouldn't he have tried to do the same thing again?

Everything we know about Hitler suggests that if he made it to Argentina there ain't no way he would keep a low profile. To me, it is implausible that a man would go from megalomaniac dictator to hide in obscurity without blowing his own cover.

I've heard before that Hitler was actually a quiet, mousey personality and that the loud angry dictator was all an act. People talked about how they would see him "get into character" before speeches/rallies.

I wish I could remember my source.

The Russians were part of the Allied Forces.

And it really is not about having tons of AA weapons around Berlin, it is about some civilian planes randomly and casually flying around Berlin during the middle of one of the largest battles in history, given how many troops would have seen them, nevermind the huge distance needed to fly between Berlin and Spain without getting noticed or shot down.

There were still plane movement in the last few days of the Battle of Berlin. The famous German test pilot Hanna Reitsch flew in on the 26th with the newly appointed Luftwaffe commander and were flown out on the 28th.

As for getting to Spain, that would be very hard but doable with a high speed two-engine plane.

Watched 3 episodes. They really grasp at straws and jump to conclusions. Lot's of hearsay. Evidence very weak. Hitler rolling around in his grave laughing over this.

That was the example they used on the show but I couldn't remember any of the names.

Wasn't the plane they were talking about a 4 engine Messerschmitt?

And were there any radar installations on the continent? I thought it was developed and use by Britain to find German raiding parties and fighters.

This.

It's pretty hokey. It's more interesting for the lengths that seemingly intelligent people will go to present themselves as experts on TV.

Honestly I am not sure what to really think about Tim Kennedy doing this.

sure, a pretty decent MMA fighter in his day and a green beret and combat vet with a bronze star for Valor. so whats your beef with him?

Nothing. I just am wondering if he should lower his level to this type of show.

Kennedy is probably the least impressive member of the cast. Here, check out their bios, especially the first 3.

I don't think their backgrounds make any difference to the story but having people with those sort of histories at least lends some credibility to the effort. Of course there are a lot of skilled, intelligent people who believe stupid shit, but at least it's not Billy Bob talking about how he was anally probed by the grays.

This series feels just like UFO Hunters to me. It's like all they did was replace aliens with Hitler.

Formula is:
Go somewhere indicated by vague report
Find person/object that vaguely confirms their theory
Person/object points directly to their next place/person to visit
Get excited at every step

It will end at the same point as well. Maybe!
