Yea... I'm in FL also. South FL tho, but we're going on a cruise today (to celebrate my parent's 25th anniv).. so it's probably gonna get re-routed.

 to hurricanes.

Bonnie and CHARLEY???!!!

Sheesh - stupid weather forecasters! When you have a Hurricane duo and the letters B & C to play with, the obvious choice is

Bonnie and CLYDE!

When I was younger and up until a couple of years ago I wanted hurricanes to hit, but now that I own a house only a block away from the ocean, I REALLY don't want a hurrican to hit! I am so glad Bonnie fizzled out and moved farther east!

I hope its enough to shut down my work tomorrow but not enough to do any damage. that'd be sweet.

Damn we were just at Sanibel looks like it is right on target for there, maybe a bit north.

I seems like an active season already. Last year in Sept our family reunion vacation in the outer banks was cut short by Isabel, and we are trying again in 10 days.

Lucky lucky lucky!

In '92, with Andrew, as the eyewall passed by (this was in Coral Gables) the barometer dropped below 940mB and the wind howled at over 165mph. Everyone that had to use the toilet had to sit on a bucket as the suction was so strong through the sewers sitting on a toilet would be dangerous. People were actually taking video of this phenomenon and toilets were sucking bananas and styrofoam cups like a powerful woodshop vacuum system.

Power distribution systems were faulting everywhere and the booms from transformer explosions which are normally deafening were barely audible thumps over the roar of the wind which was comparable to being in a radio flyer wagon in tow by a 747 approaching V2 speed...

Cheers!

I am in Orlando and am not too worried. I have been here my entire life and been through many of these. Since it it coming across the state from the west it is going to be weakened by the time it hits here. Good luck over in Tampa.

I live in gainesville and besides a sudden afternoon rain, I haven't noticed anything peculiar. Bonnie looks like a dud. Who knows about Charlie. We don't even know where it will hit the states.

ya bonnie was a joke.

although when erin came through here (pace, right across the bay from pensacola) it was barely a cat. 1 hurricane, but it tore my town up. it had been a long time since we took a direct hit, so erin took out mostly just all the dead trees.
