CNN is talking to the authorities about arresting people for looting. I think you would be better off if you got arrested. At least they would take you to jail (or wherever they are keeping the prisoners) and give you some food and water.

Last year, right after I went to Florida on vacation, the hurricanes started (within a week or so after we left).
Then, in September last year, I went to Seattle with my daughters for a friend's wedding. The day after we left is when Mt. St. Helens started erupting again.
And, again, just a few weeks ago I was in Florida on vacation (and went to New Orleans twice back in June).
