The difference between the N & S is that these trees haven't gone through these winds before. The more frequent large storms down there keep down the number of suspect trees. Also, many of the trees will be experiencing winds from the complete opposite direction as the predominant winds in their areas.
Live pic I just took now from my window.
I'm in Jersey City by Hudson River, we're looking up the river along NYC on right. Currently perfectly calm, just bit windy. Not a drop of rain.
In anne arundel county an its just been raining medium.
I'm only a few miles from you and it's raining water. I know it's water because Channel 13's Ron Matz is sticking his foot in it telling us "this is water". Thanks Ron.
I wonder if he had to sing Monday Monday all by himself out there.
i'm just south of you (at least where it says you are from) at work in columbia. it's just raining a bit outside nothing more. drove up from rockville and the roads were empty.
I'm not too worried in central PA. We're on high ground so no flooding concerns. The only thing that sucks for us is when the power goes out we lose water since we are on well. I've filled the bathtubs with water for flushing the toilets, all my 5 gallons buckets with water for the dogs, etc..., and about 20 gallons of drinking water into jugs.
