No gas lines in phillipsburg or Alpha (warren county) today. Short lines in bridgewater area (somerset county). When I get power back everything will be back to normal for me.

filled up in New Haven, CT on my way home from Maine (made it back home with about a 70% full tank, which will get me through a few weeks assuming I keep driving to a minimum).

there were long as hell lines all along the Merritt Parkway, though. I'm probably going to avoid any non-essential driving until the gas rationing is ended.

Anyone living on the water should have flood insurance:\

Insurance does not provide a new boat to go fishing/cruising in to "replace" on that you never had.

Didn't DE get hit pretty hard too? I know I saw Lewes was under water, were inland locations much better?

We started back on Wednesday, but we're far enough north that high winds were all we dealt with. I think power held up here at work, but we were concerned because the backup plant is currently down for maintenance.

At last, power is back. Son was out of work until today because the restaurant where he works was pretty badly damaged.

Only actual issue we had is that with the fridge out - I lost a few months of insulin - which needs to be kept cool and is expensive. Oops, my bad, should have thought of that.

Time to clean and do laundry and call everybody I know and see how they're holding up.

The Merritt is insane. It's a very pretty drive, but one accident shuts you down for hours. Fortunately I have the Traffic View app now and can tap into the webcams to see what's going on before I head somewhere :awe:

we're in bloomfield, nj still without power. i confirmed that our friends in both glen ridge, nj and montclair, nj also still don't have power even though parts of all 3 towns do have power.

I have to drive either the Merritt or I-95 every day. The stretch between Stratford and Stamford southbound during the morning rush and northbound during the evening rush is one of the worst commutes in the USA.
