I continue on buying graphics cards. I am given the choice (here in Guam) to buy a Leadtek 6800GT for 400 bucks or a BFG 6800GT for 420 bucks. I need your help! Leadtek makes great cards and from experience their 2D on desktops is top notch. BFG makes good cards as well BUT it offers a lifetime warranty, etc. My dilemna is with the BFG, because since it's a GT and the core and mem chips are clocked a little higher than 6800NU, would that dual fan set up keep my card nice and cool? Also, the dual fan set up is kind of loud on my 6800OC, would it be any louder for the 6800GT?

um, the BFG GT is clocked higher than NORMAL GTs, which are clocked higher than 6800NUs.

go for the BFG. lifetime warranty.

Leadtek is quality especially with cooling, just look sweet-ass HSF on it, BFG got the warranty but Leadtek gets my vote, though I was seconds away from buying the BFG 6800GT OC for 410, untill I saw the X800XL for 300, sorry nVIDIA

you're basing your decision on the Leadtek because of the "sweet-ass HSF"? lol ok.

When you're done staring at your cool HSF, I'll have comfort in a lifetime warranty.

I will have to say Leadtek, since i love mine.

The BFGs do have a better warranty, & if you do not want to OC, will perform slightly better out of the box.

But the Leadtek has somewhat better cooling with it's awesome massive heatsink & fan, so it will likely go well past Ultra speeds in most OCing cases.

i originally said Leadtek, got mine from ewiz.com and it was broken right out of the box. Had to RMA it. Went out and got a BFG and it is a good card. It won't overclock to Ultra speeds without artifacts on HalfLIfe2. Damn shame. Oh well. It at least worked out of the box.

I am going with Leadtek, my 6800NU is awesome. It is quiet and runs much cooler WAY overclocked than anything with the reference cooler seems to. Lifetime warranty? Most electronics fail in the first 90 days if they are going to fail, and if you are going to be oc'ing either of them past their rated speeds, you are technically voiding the warranty. Besides, the cooler on the BFG GT looks horrible - two little fans! Yuck! How well can that cool it?

If you OC go Leadtek. If not go BFG. I don't say thing because BFG "Sucks" at OC which they don't anyways... I say is because the life time warrenty on them is sweet and OC obviously voids that warrenty.

Don't you love those titles where's it's like "HURRY SOMEONE IS POINTING A GUN TO MY HEAD AND I MUST BUY A VIDEO CARD IN THE NEXT 5 MINUTES" titles?

lol, I love those. It's a technique to play on other's emotions. People MUST help me buy a video card as I was presented with a deal that if I skipped out on would haunt me forever! Guns are bad. Video cards are good

I would go (and did) with BFG. Lifetime warranty rules hehhe. And as for the noise issue, I have an Ultra and I can't hear it, at least not above my case fans. Although at startup it'll fire up real loud, then once you're in windows it'll go down to normal.

Leadtek better HSF and quieter

BFG better out-da-box clocks and better warranty.

If you plan to OC I'd get the leadtek since you viod your warranty anyway and it has a much better copper HS and fatter fan. Run stock get the BFG.

Can't go wrong with either one though.

i have the leadtek 6800GT, i love the big ass cooling, i love that its very quiet, and although it doesnt overclock too far, it gets to ultra speeds just fine. the leadtek just had a heavy engineering quality about it, its a bit unique in my eyes, and thats why i liked it. i only overclock to play far cry with HDR, everything else is just nice at normal speeds

2D quality on this Leadtek card is definately better than on my friends Galaxy 6800Gt

the leadtek by rights should be good for overclocking with all that copper on it, but i think i got a piece of silicon that doesnt clock too far, but it does enough for me. when i get some more money or later in the year i may try thugsrook's GTU bios see if i can squeeze more performance out of it. still 5440 in 05 and nearly 13K in 03 aint bad

cant go wrong with either

well since there is no known international independent group of people evaluating video cards based on accepted criteria, we'll just call that your opinion.

I have a Leadtek 6800NU and am switching for a BFG 6800GT. The leadtek is nice and quiet but is actually idling around 60C but I like that the BFG has a lifetime warranty.

I would go with Leadtek because it's still a good card and BFG also a good card is 20 bucks higher.
