Have a gift card to Lowes and so I'm leaning towards only buying from them for $350 or less. Any of these a good idea? Currently have a push mower and want to finally go self-propelled (1/4 acre). Not sure of the benefit of RWD over the more common FWD (easier turning no?). Also 22" in theory > 21" correct? More coverage, and not even more weight. They also have a bunch of Troy Bilt but I'm reading they're built cheaply. Thoughts?

Fwd usually have less traction than rwd since the mower pulls you and you have a tendency to pull the handle down which raises the front wheels.

I agree, I have a Husqvarna rear tall wheel drive rear bagger model and it works great. It has the same Honda GCV 160 Series engine as the ones you posted above.

I also use it to mulch leaves in the fall it has a great suction even for those large oak and magnolia leaves.

I have a husqvarna HU775H mower and its a tank. B&S engine, 22 inch cut, tons of power, just runs and runs. It's a single or double pull start, no primer, and works well. I've never had a problem with it, but probably will now since I am talking it up. My only beef is that it's a heavy mower, but the self propel works well and it bags well also. I picked it up for a song since the mower was "seized" at Lowes, but I spent about 30 seconds freeing it up, working the blade back and forth, and it's worked great ever since.

RWD is easier for detail work since you can cut right up to something with the front of the mower.

She's a beaut ain't she? Can't believe I waited this long to go self propelled. Hardly broke a sweat. Except having to bag the front yard. This bag is hard to deal with when emptying.

I'd go for quadra cut blades like the ones in Honda mowers. Mulch is so fine that I don't have to bag it unless I have a weed issue that needs to be bagged.
