wasabi is a totally different kind of "spice", if you can even call it "spicy". It's great, but doesn't go with all foods.

I put it on everything. Hamburgers, hotdogs, noodles, rice, sandwiches, BURRITOS. You wanna argue with me about that? Just messing with ya.

meh.. sirracha is nothing more than spicy ketchup.
you get more heat from FIRE sauce at Taco Bell.

You are a clod. Taco Bell "fire" sauce isn't even hot. It's nothing more than a jar of cheap salsa minus all of the chunks of pepper/onion/garlic/anything else that goes in salsa.

You can't beat this rooster shit.

This statement here tells me you know nothing about hot sauce. Sriracha is more than 4 times as hot as TB fire sauce. http://www.scottrobertsweb.com/scoville-scale.php?view=all&sort=name&order=asc

Second, this thread was not about who has the hottest sauce which is actually not the biggest factor for most people who enjoy hot sauces. Nice attempted threadcrap with the mention about Taco Bell when the discussion was flavorful hot sauces though...

Depends on which brand you get. The Roland Sriracha with the yellow cap is about the level of spicy ketchup, but the Huy Fong brand with the green cap is much spicier, to the point where you should be careful with how much you use. Not so much because it it TOO hot, but rather because then the Sriracha is all you can taste.

Been using Huy Fong Sriracha for years!!!! Great stuff. Goes well with so many things as stated. I dont consider it hot but a lot of folks do I guess.

I used to always bring it back from California with me and then I had my daughter sending it.

Cant buy it in Floriduh anyplace Ive found yet but I order it online 3 bottles at a time. Lasts me about 3 months.

Seems to me I started a thread about this sauce about 5-6 years ago but no one knew what I was talking about. May have been a different web site though.

Where do you find this stuff?

It's pretty common. Even most supermarkets have them in the Asian food section. I find them in abundance even in Idaho. A must for pho lovers. Good with hamburgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, french fries etc.

I love the stuff.

my sisters were over and seen it in the fridge. they asked what it was. I opened it and put some on my finger and licked off. As i did that i told them it was ground up roosters with flavor. its a great paste!

they both looked ill and ran off. hehe

It's good when provided, but I'd never purchase or use my own--too typical and uninteresting for my tastes. Not very hot, and I'm generally not a fan of that kind of sweetness. But it does do wonders for the cuisine that it is most often paired: Korean, Thai, et al.

Can't say I've ever tried it. I see it everywhere though. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

In Florida you can get it at Publix or Super Target, at least in the Orlando area.

We always have an open bottle and one in reserve, just in case.

For something different try it with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream sprinkled with some cinnamon and brown sugar. Sounds weird but it's really good. Kind of tastes like the old Fireball candies, if anyone remembers those.

who gives a shit if it doesnt contain tomatoes...

people here worship it like it's the second coming of the hot sauce gods... when it really isn't that strong.

it's spicy ketchup.

you want some hot sauce... try some 2AM.

Why so mad? It doesn't contain tomatoes, so stop calling it ketchup. It's also spicier than Taco Bell's hottest sauce. As another poster pointed out, you may not be talking about Huy Fong Tương Ớt Sriracha, but something else less potent.

If you mean Atomic Fireballs, they are still widely available and still good.
