I was at Walmart last weekend and saw they actually carry it there. I grabbed a bottle. Have they reformulated it in the last few years? Last I had it was 4 years ago when I was in Iowa and it was bright red and much more "pasty" in texture. This bottle I got is much darker in color and has a more sweet and garlic'y flavor. It tastes awesome. More awesome than I ever remember. Best sauce you can buy for under $2.00.

I know what you mean. I have Sriracha alot as it makes tons of shitty college food taste better, but the last time I picked stuff up, it was alot more watery and a lighter red.

Not sure how I feel about it. I don't taste the spicy in either but it they both still taste good

2am isn't even fucking sauce. it's goddamn extract. I've had million+ scoville before. Fuck that shit. Most of it tastes like utter garbage and I'm not eating it just to burn the shit out of my mouth. If i wanted to do that i would just get a mouth of 151 and set it a blaze.

PROTIP: After handling incredibly hot peppers(choco habs or ghost peppers) or incredibly hot sauce, wash your hands thoroughly. Getting any residue on your nuts will be miserable.

LOL. Sounds like you speak from experience. Personally I would be more worried about my eyes. I tend to touch my face after eating more frequently than my nuts.

I'm a fan, but I preffer the chili garlic paste more. But even more than that, I love this stuff called oil chili. The ass hates it but the rest of me loves it.

Under $2? What size was it? I ordered a few at several Asian supermarkets a few weeks ago and they were about in the low $2.xx/each. The bottle size was 18 oz.

I am realling tempting to do a group buy and ship these bottles to ATOTers. Baby needs some new shoes.

I really like chili oil too and for some reason the stuff Wendy's gives you when you buy their chili is some good stuff.

Actually I've noticed that the flavor is not always 100% consistent from one bottle to the next. It's always good but subtly different. Then again my mind could just be playing tricks on me.

I actually turned some people at work on to this stuff and now they love it too. The word must be spread!

This is the more classic variety of chili sauce from what I understand. While I love sriracha, I much prefer this type. The brand I buy is basically the same, vietnamese and simply called chili-garlic sauce. Works great for making hot-n-spicy chicken to put over rice.

How to Make Sriracha from Scratch

This guy did an experiment to make his own. I'm considering giving it a shot even though it seems pretty involved. Getting red jalapenos seems like it will be the tough part given all the trouble he went through

If anything I'd like to make some that is spicier.

It's too sweet. I bought some to try it, and I'm not impressed. I use it exclusively for Boca burgers, and once it's gone, I won't repurchase.

Well, our local WalMart started to carry it a few months back. They must have ordered a tractor trailer full as they had a WALL built of the bottles. Went in last week and only a few bottles on the shelf. Hope they dont stop carrying it. I bought 3 bottles for less than I used to pay for one mail order.

Vi, I noticed the same thing right away with my first bottle from WallyWorld again a few months back. You described the change perfectly especially the more garlic'y flavor. I thought maybe the change was just the batch or that it had been improperly stored. Floriduh is great for that, letting things set in the heat. Im really careful where I buy my beer for instance. Flavor seems to have gone back to normal after the bottle is open a few days and refrigerated though.

Sriracha is decent but there are other (mostly chinese) chili sauces out there that are far superior. Fu-Chi for example.

Also, enough of this attitude of "it's chili". There's at least 5 major, distinct chili flavours; what works for one food might not work for the next. Habanero on chicken, Poblano on beef, birds eye on fish, whatever fuchi is made with for pork, plus many have roast or raw garlic in them, and it matters if the chili was processed with vinegar, oil, raw, roast, boiled, fresh or macerated.
