Jesus fucking Christ.

This was a shot in the foot. I ordered 2GB of the ram and a mobo. I used the same CC I've used everywhere else(newegg, etc). I have my items shipped to my cousins house because my parents house has a gate around it. I've always had this done. Well I went to checkout and put the my shipping address in my billing address. They called me yesterday stating I need to use the address listed with the CC. That's understandable due to security.

I updated my billing address with the address under my CC. But still have to have my stuff shipped to my cousin. They called again saying I have to have my shipping address the same as my billing. WTF?

Why should it matter where I have it shipped to?

I just told her to cancel my order and refund all of my money. On top of that she was hard as hell to understand(asian accent). That was such a pain in the ass.

Fuck ewiz.

you have to add your cousins address as a "shipping address" on your credit card account.
you must call your credit card company phone number on the back of your card to do that with a service rep.

Ewiz is the only place that has that policy that I've ordered from.

Oh well.

almost every place I order from online that takes credit card either requires you to have the same shipping and billing address or have an alternate shipping address on file with you credit card company. thats quite normal.

I'm gonna keep waiting since RAM IC prices have just started creeping down again (after a Summer upturn). I'm predicting lower prices in the next two months.

I have found the same- strangely newegg is about the only company that doesn't care -which is quite odd.

And it is no surprise that just about every time I order something from NewEgg, a stop is put on my CC and they call me to verify recent purchases.

Like I said, I understand why they do that but what would it matter to where it's shipped? What if it's a gift?

What if someone stole your CC and had $500 worth of stuff shipped to their roommate's apartment which they are leaving a day after the item arrives?

I am an Ebay seller, and I'll be damned if I ship to an unconfirmed address. Pretty much the same thing.

I understand where you're coming from. Why doesn't a huge retailer like the egg practice this?

I'm predicting 2GB DDR2 RAM will drop to below $50 without rebates before the end of the year.

Depends. If running a newer 1333mhz FSB C2D and want to OC a good bit, it should be worth the extra money.

wow. talk about some sweet prices for DDR2 ram. Lucky I did not build a system with it when prices were about $200 for 2x 1gb sticks.

How accurate are your RAM price predictions? I ask because I'll hold off buying more DDR2 RAM for now if you are right.

Buyers can expect more price erosion for memory chips over the next six months although the rate of decline will ease compared to the first half price plunge of 2007.
...
After DRAM prices fell dramatically in the first half of 2007 suppliers eased back on production bringing supply and demand more into balance.

As a result, the average price for a DRAM started to rise in the third quarter.
...
However, prices will fall in the fourth quarter and through at least the second quarter of 2008.
...
much of the increase [in RAM pricing] can be traced to seasonal demand. With the holidays less than six months away, seasonal demand nearly always increases?sometimes sharply?in the third quarter.
