My old computer I use as a media server is starting to give me problems. It started after I tried doing windows update. That pretty much killed it. I had to boot with the cd and reinstall over my old install (i didnt format though).
Now it keeps crashing and my monitor says "HV frequency over range". I can still boot and use the computer temporarily before it crashes.
I'm going to try to format it now and reinstall windows.
The video card is geforce4 ti4600. The fan has stopped working on it. The HSF is HOT to the touch.
Is this a windows problem or a video card problem?
[edit]It seems like it's an overheating issue. screen goes blank when i'm trying to reinstall windows. dont want to spend any money on this old ass computer, not i gotta think of something to do with it
