As I was on the local Coast Guard base looking for a protein bar to munch on during my workout, I discovered what a wide variety of supplements and whey protein they have available there. Out of curiosity, since I saw so much Hydroxycut, I was curious if anyone here has actually tried it before?

Does it work, or is it just another placebo? Any other similar products you've used that are relatively similar to Hydroxycut?

I'm going to read a few links and learn more about it, but I just want to hear some of your thoughts on it.

It works but it only in conjunction with a serious diet and exercise, and there are better fat burners

Like MAN Scorch, Lipo 6x, or cytolean

I'm most interested in the appetite suppression, not so much the alleged fat burning acceleration it offers.

I drink tea and chew gum to suppress my appetite (works pretty well). But if you're actually hungry, and your brain isn't lying to you (bad brain!), just eat something healthy like a fruit.

I used lypo6 for 2 months last spring time and while it did help get me cut up, I also noticed quite a bit of muscle loss and people even told me that I looked smaller and was getting too skinny.

Start
1 month
2 month

i think when I lean up this upcoming spring I'm just going to do it through cardio w/out using any of those pills.

i8 don't remember exactly, but it was something like the following.

-Wake up and drink protein shake
-Ham Sandwich around 12pm
-Turkey Sandwich around 3pm
-Protein shake around 6-7pm
-Dinner (would vary what i was eating, usually meat w/brown rice or tuna)
-Protein shake before bed

I would also have a bowl of cereal sometimes and was cheating on Saturdays.

I doubt you lost much muscle if you were taking in enough protein. You didn't really look much smaller either. But again fat is less dense and therefore larger than muscle. Cardio is going to be FAR more catabolic than something like Lipo6. You're at a point (in the month 2 pic)where cutting off body fat is just plain hard.

i honestly think i just was not getting enough calories in general. but while taking lypo6 i was also doing cardio like 4 times a week. I was doing HIIT on the treadmill for like 10-12 minutes or I'd do the eliptical. i was about 188 or 190 when I started cutting up last spring and was probably 175-180 in that pic after month 2.

this time when i start cutting i plan to be around 210lbs or so and want to try and get back down to around 200 lean if possible. im just glad now i'll need more calories to just maintain so atleast i will be able to eat more and not worry about it putting on pounds heh.

EDIT:

one thing i want to mention too is that when taking lypo6 i really did not notice any difference in my appetite at all.

Defintely not enough calories man. That's like 1500...you need around 2500 on a cut with lipo 6...no wonder you burned all your muscle. And, I am guessing those sandwhiches were not made on whole wheat bread.

heh dude it was way more than 1500 calories. my shakes alone had like 350 - 400 in em. and my sandwiches are like 4 slices of meat + provolone cheese. i'd guess my sandwiches were atleast 600 calories and probably more. and my dinners were probably like 900 calories or so.

i'd also eat granola bars for snacks during the day at my job or some other type of snack. if i had to guess i'd say i was having about 3000 calories a day while on this cycle.

Trust me I know diets, that does not look like enough...

Hydroxycut used to contain ephedra. That was a major ingredient that was banned a few years ago. It's probably not nearly as effective now.

Designer Whey.

And I'm not agreeing that it may have not been enough, but I was definitely getting atleast 3000 calories/day. i think that my metabolism is just fast and i need more than average to maintain.

when i cut this next year im definitely going to use that fitday calculator you always link to for some help.

Yep I was about to recommend that exactly.

Anyway, curse you and your extreme metabolism!

Oh, right, 200mg caffeine.

"I can feel my metabolism speeding up!"

Right... gimmick..

WTF All fat burners (except non stim ones meant to be stacked with stim ones) have caffeine for energy, it's metabolic speeding processes and it's ability to raise body temp...and quackwatch has it on there because it is a MT product...stupid

hydroxycut works but it is overpriced and not the best out there.

Are you going to say the EC stack does not work because it has caffeine?
