Word of caution folks: These monitors have some problems with handling invalid video frequencies. I had 2 monitors that were busted and had to be returned. One way I can tell you on how to bust it is, boot linux and run xscreensaver in cycle mode. When one of the several screensavers tries to set unsupported video mode, your monitor is f**ked up. From that point onwards, when your monitor would simply flash the desktop and go blank everytime you turn on your monitor. I returned mine and settled for a CRT. Good luck.
The auto adjust button should have taken care of this. Something's wrong with your monitor, not the design.
