I got a new hyundai l70s from Frys on the Thanksgiving day sale. Hooked it up to my computer running winxp/linux dual boot. Everything was working fine until today morning.

Now when I turn the monitor on, the computer desktop flashes on the monitor and blanks out. The flashing occurs everytime i change the video mode.

I'm clueless. Is this a problem in my monitor or is my settings somehow screwed up ?

I'm typing on this monitor right now and I think it is pretty damn good... too bright if anything. Good contrast... and not a single dead pixel after 5 months. Although I think I found *one* dead *sub*pixel once when the 'cross' of a t was missing once... but I haven't seen it since.

If you are talking about how it may flash white-ish in regions of the screen, I got no idea about that. Works fine though. I only get a momentary flash when I change video resolutions. Beyond that, I'd just try manually changing settings. Hyundai is *supposed* to be good about their warranty policies, but I dunno.

By 'white-ish' I mean when it is booting and changing resolutions around a lot there is a giant white triangle on the screen for a split second... that may just be randomness. Nothing's broken yet *knock on wood*

More story... I exchanged my monitor in Frys.. The new monitor had a dead pixel. So, i promptly took it back and exchanged again. The new monitor was perfect for 4 days. Today boom, the same problem. The picture flashes and then screen goes blank.

From the comments from you guys, it appears my system is doing something that the monitor doesn't like.. Well, I have a Geforce Ti4200 card, pinnacle pctv pro and I run Linux most of the time. I watch lots of movies and tv on the lcd monitor (this is my humble plasma tv for my bedroom). I have a short period for entering into powersave. Does this got anything to do ruin the monitor ?

Hyundai warranty 3 years (not 10yrs as in automobiles). I think it is still pretty good. I called Hyundai customer support and enquired about the problem. The CS rep wasn't aware of any such problems but was ready to exchange it. The monitor has to be shipped to Chicago though.
