I received mine. No dead pixels and an all around great picture. This thing is so much better than my KDS trinitron. Thank you CompUSA!

Just received an answer to my email. They said the monitor is on backorder but they expect another shipment the middle of this week. I guess I'll give them a few more days since this is just a toy for me, not a need.

Now I understand why people say CompUSSR.

Well I got my monitor today.....front door today.....it's the l90d+......it was first delivered last Friday......I ordered it late Sunday nite the 6th......order status still says open....good luck to those still waiting...

I'm very tempted to order this monitor but I have a question: are the viewing angles really that bad? I plan on watching movies (my usage will be about equal between word and internet/games/movies) on it and I have a tiny room (college student), will it really be terrible for watching movies as all the pro reviews keep saying? A buddy has a gateway 17" LCD that I can't imagine has much better viewing angles (it's the cheap one) and it's fine for watching movies (again, in a little room where there' not much room except in front of the monitor). If the viewing angles are so bad you have to sit DIRECTLY in front of the monitor I guess I could imagine how it'd suck.

More and more I just wish EVERYONE would boycott compusa and put them out of business and all those worthless CSRs can read another cue card elsewhere in Texas.

Sorry, I must have been tying up the phone lines. I spoke with Jeremey (this guy was helpful, there are 7 employees there in Texas according to him). According to him, me and my friend's monitors have shipped. He had fedex tracking numbers in front of him, but fedex was coming up blank. He shot an email to the vendor for me. He THINKS I should get it by the end of the week. grr...

The CompUSA saga continues. Having heard nothing from them for 6+ business days I called only to be told that it was on backorder and they hoped to hear something next week! I suggested that it would have been nice to know this 6 days ago and Eve said that they might send out an e-mail next week as there were quite a few customers in this situation.

So I quickly decided to fork out the extra $12 and went over to ChiefValue and ordered one there. Went back into CompUSA site and was just about to cancel my order when I get a call from Eve who says she had just found out that my order had shipped today and should be here Friday!

All sounds very odd to me and I cannot understnad how a big company like this has such a crappy system - we will see what arrives on Friday.

Ok, so after receiving an email today telling me my monitor is on backorder and they are waiting on a new shipment, low and behold what should arrive, the monitor:Q

I'm using it as I write side by side with a Dell 1905FP purchased during Christmas.

First off I can say that at default color settings, the Dell has much better gray shading. For example, the various gray background colors contained within Anandtech's forum software look much nicer on the Dell. The Hyundai's grays look washed out in comparison. This of course is being evaluated after turning the brightness down to similar levels on both monitors. Also, the Dell has a better contrast ratio although the Hyundai looks good also.

The viewing angles are also much better on the Dell. Looking sideways at the Hyundai makes the colors turn dark. This is not a problem when using the monitor like a monitor, but if one wants to use it like a TV, you might be dissapointed.

Where the Hyundai shines is in speed. I ran the Nasa satellite tracking script and the Hyundai really puts the Dell to shame there. This test is a little hard to describe so those that are interested should click the link to see what I'm talking about. Basically, with the Dell the white satellite dots on the back side of the earth graphic disappear when moving the mouse around whereas they are clearly visable on the Hyundai.

So it seems like all the reviews are correct, TN + Film screen for speed and PVA for viewing angles and color reproduction. I'm going to play around a little more with the color settings and such to see if I can improve the color on the Hyundai but for now, this is what I see.

I'm one of those guys thats been waiting for over a week. I finally called CompUSA and they did some research and said that mine will ship tommorrow. It seems that if you dont get up on their ass, compusa would hold your LCD indefinitely. I'm glad I called them.

got an email message today ( Wed, 16 Feb 2005 09:05:32 -0600 (CST)) saying that my order has been shipped. BUT still no tracking number. CompUSA REFUSES to give out tracking numbers for security reasons. I don't get it. Brief list of companies I will buy from:

1. newegg
2. monarch
3. chiefvalue
4. mwave (although it's a pain to pickup from their warehouse)

and these companies in the ol' doghouse:
1. compusa
2. tigerdirect
3. outpost
4. amazon (i know, but their CSR is the worst)

Made my second call today and was put on hold for a few minutes, lady came back and said it shipped on the 14th and was scheduled for delivery tomorrow on the 17th via fedex. Has anyone who received theirs tried to return it yet and seen how they are handling them?

GF just let me know that the monitor came - figured Fedex would have dropped it off when they came earlier this morning. Can't wait to get home and test out the LCD world.

My CompUSA order still says open although they swear it is the way! I would add Zipzoomfly to the "good" list - I have recently ordered a bunch of stuff from them and they have bombarded me with status reports and I have got things in 3-4 days after ordering

Ordered it on the 8th, shipped on the 14th, got it today by Fedex express. The order still shows open. Nothing on the box indicating where it was shipped from and no invoice or packing slip included. They never answered my emails inquiring about the order. My first and last purchase from CrapUSA.
Fired the monitor up and found 2 stuck on lit pixels, not sure if Hyundai will replace it. This article at Tom's Hardware is encouraging though:

For all the flack everyone's been giving CompUSA, didn't it say it would ship in 7-10 days? Mine shipped in that time and arrived in 11 days. Granted the tracking system wasn't working, but it got here as promised. I've only seen one person on this thread who didn't get their correct order. This thread led me to the deal but also fueled my paranoia

I Ordered mine on the 7th, before noon. I still don't have it. They swear it will be in my hands by Friday. That's to be seen. No trackin number, no status updats, and piss poor customer service makes CrapUsa what it is, and what it is going to continue to be, just that. When I ordered, I could have sword it said 1-2 days. I've checked my printed out reciept and it says 3-6 business days. monday, tues, wed, thr, fri, mon, tues, wed... they claim is shipped on tues. i guess they can see it as being shipping in 6 days, but i see it as 7.

I ordered on the 8th... the monitor arrived today... excellent condition... I found two dead pixels... but I can barely make them out... and even then I have to really try hard to see them. The picture looks great. Not quite as brilliant as my NEC FE2111SB but then again... not many CRTs are, let alone a mid range LCD. Great deal as far as I'm concerned. The screen is also very bright. I think the optimal brightness level for this screen is 35.. with the contrast set to 70. Anything higher than 35 seems too bright and begins to wash out some of the colors.
