I’ve got the flu

There is a few really shitty flu strains going around. Our hospital is full of it. I was laid up for a week and it took a week after that to get over it, plus I had my jab as well.

I had the same "WTF! My hair hurts!" thing going on. Keep drinking and take regular paracetamol. Dont be afraid of seeing a doc if it gets really shitty or you start coughing green goo when you start getting over it.

I had a weaker flu strain as was described by my doctor when I was in college and I was laid up for days. I almost passed out in the shower. Went to walk to class and just turned around a few minutes in. It is unreal how much it knocks you out. Good luck.

I have never had the flu. I have had a few very bad colds though. So I can understand how bad it feels.

If you are within 48 hours of things starting you can still get a prescription for Tamiflu. I had the flu three weeks ago and missed a week of work but the Tamiflu can lighten the symptoms and help you get over it a day or two faster. If you make a tele-medicine appointment you don't even need to leave the house to go to the doctor.

Been a while since I've had it *touch wood* but yeah it sucks. The last time I got it I was still living with my parents. It hit me very suddenly. I was feeling ok, and out of nowhere I just started puking like there's no tomorrow. It was even coming out of my nose. Was pretty nasty. Was out for a couple days with fever and whole shebang.

Sorry man that sucks. I know someone with a kid in a small-ish private school and over 60% of the kids have had the flu this year...they disinfected every classroom last weekend (not sure how).

My son had a cold that became bronchitis late last week. I caught his cold but was able to fend it off pretty well and it's pretty much run its course in less than a week, which is good for a cold for me.

I think I had the flu once as an adult a few years ago, and maybe once as a kid. A lot of my co-workers have been sick this season (probably due to their kids) but I haven't had so much as a cough. *knock on wood*

I'm lucky so far that I haven't gotten the flu yet, but I know it will be coming. The company got rid of sick days this year and you only get 40 hours of "personal" time. People are sick right and left, and are coming to work before they are recovered. You see them all over the place with blankets covering themselves, sweating and shivering at the same time, and it isn't even cold inside the building. One woman two cubicles down from me was taken away by the EMTs via stretcher.

I'm so paranoid that I will get sick that I'm wearing a surgical mask and disposable gloves.

My local micro brew did just have a hep A warning for Jan. I was there about 4 weeks ago so I think I'm good except for the cook jizzing in all of the burgers. Might need a plan b.
