I just sit here and think about being the president, what it means, or supposed to mean, and what has been going on with our now president and all his appointees. Has it gone from becoming president, to be leader of our once great country, to do that of the people, whats right for the people of this country, to make sure we look up standing to the rest of the world, one for which others want to follow in our foot steps as the country that does things right, not only for its own people, but for others all around the world.

To who ever becomes president to sh1t on the people, extort all the people of the country and around the world so as to line the damn pockets of his wallet, and all who work for him and in the government, just as long as they get theirs, no matter what lives may be lost as long as it is not theirs, or one of theirs.

I think being a president, and who ever is appointed to that standing, has lost what it means to be such. Instead it seems to mean, how far they can go with the powers given to them, to make themselves rich, the people beneath them rich, and the ones running the government rich, all at the cost of us and our families. None of their family members at in the war, and if they are, are not in a position where they can be killed. The truck drivers down there driving the trucks around delivering the goods are our people, who are down and out, trying to make a good life for their family being killed, and who owns that trucking company? The ones under the president.

But getting back to point, it just seems that with the last few presidents, it has been getting farther and farther from doing what is best for us, the people, and more and more about making money with the power of being the president, and fvck the people. Will we ever see a time when it is about us again, and not have a president in power taking away our freedoms, spying on us as though we are the terrorists? One that will think for our truck drivers we have here, and help them to find work, or get work? For to become a truck driver in this country now you have to give blood, finger printed, and go through hell and back again, but our president wants to ok, mexican truck drivers on our road with hardly any to no qualifications what so ever. Sounds to me its fvck us again, and someone lined his pockets full of money so as to get rid of the American truck driver and allow cheaper labor pass through. Why is it for an American we have to jump through all the hoops, and our own President wants to punish us by making us do that, and is so damn gun ho about allowing Mexican drivers to come on in?

When I was little I remember seeing the hardships on tv of some of the other children, in other countries, and was kinda happy I was not born there, and was lucky I was born here, in the USA, with freedom, and everything I could want I could go get, with no restrictions placed on me. Now that I am older, and seeing what is going on, and what is slowly being taken from us, restrictions slowing being placed on us, and alot of people are allowing it happen, lets face it, there really isn't much we can do, I don't know am that lucky any more, and kinda scared as to what is about to happen with the future if this is how the next presidents are going to care for the people who put them into power. If bush had his way now, I would bet anything he would try to pass a law to get rid of voting, and make sure he stayed in power, and appoint the next dictator after him, and so forth. Mark my words, this wont be long, and I fear for my kids future if this is how America is going.

Please Mr President(s), do right for the people again, not for your wallet. Bring back to us why it was to be so great to be an American.

Well your state did not even carry it's Democrat candidate for President in 2000 and stayed the course for 2004.

Don't like it, make sure they never get elected again.

Get out and volunteer with your local Democrat committee.

Not sure what to put or take out, maybe that he lost the residents?

Still must energize the voters in his state to not vote Red.

As long as Diebold is in the pockets of high republican party officials we will never be able to stop them from buying elections.

Lack of integrity and fortitude is not exclusive to republicans. It's a problem throughout politics.

Yah, democrats are fantastic Dave. I bet if you lived in Illinois right now and your electric bill doubled or tripled, you'd think "wow I'm so glad we went democrat. I don't mind pay 2 grand a year extra!" And since the governor said no new taxes, I'm sure you won't mind all the increases fees being paid on everything, from car and boat licenses to every permit under the sun. And of course, you wouldn't mind that he's also gutting the state pension system to fund all his "special programs".

But I digress...you did troll the thread

I guess that is why the states voters reelected a democrat to governer (by a large margin).

We must elect a third party or dissolve our current political parties. Democrat or Republican both are bought and paid for and use authoritarian means to consolidate power.

Should we fail to do this, we?ll begin to see civil unrest here much like Iraq.

I live in IL, my electric bill at least doubled. I'm still happy we're a Dem stronghold. My electric bill doubling just means I need to renegotiate my salary.

And for those on a fixed income, let them cook this summer, eh? So what if a few 100 seniors die of heatstroke - a small price to pay for partisanship!

Yah, look at those Chicago dems taking care of business

Don't you find it at least a little hypocritical to even utter the word "partisianship" in an effort to defend Bush?

You aren't terribly bright, are you? I may have hijacked the thread into Dave's trolling and Illinois politics, but I haven't said a thing about Bush.

Well apparently if you criticize anyone other than GWB you are a hardcore partisan Bush lover.

Its quite obvious that the electric prices doubling in IL are the fault of GWB.

Well the thread is about presidents, former and current, there I go assuming you were actually discussing the intended topic, what was I thinking?

WTF happened to my thread? I was hoping to talk about how I see the presidents job is starting to take a turn for our worst, and hoping for a glimmer of some hope, one may rise up and think of the people again, and its turned into a school fight about trolling and IL. utilities.

OH well my bad for trying to start something I though would be a interesting talk. My bad thinking some could handle it.

There is a response system on a msgboard. I'd probably start by first looking at what somebody is responding to first, before labeling them a Bush defender.

Some one has to, no one else seems to care much, other then what party they are for. I'm for neither party, other then the one that will care for my well being, my families well being, my fellow humans well being, and not how much the can use the power given to them to fill their pockets and the pockets of their friends with money at our cost of lives and freedom.

Which every party that can do that, Republican, Democrat, 3rd, 4th, what have you, will get my vote. So far none of the parties have gotten one of my votes, and if it keeps up the way it is, they never will.

And dont anyone give me the bull about if I dont vote then the person I want cannot get in because that is bull crap and you know it, you can vote till your face turns blue, you live in a swing state, or what ever its called, or how it is done, all the people could vote one way, and still be turned in the other, no matter what. Hell, look who got voted in a 2nd time round
Id bet donuts to dollars, that if you went around to each individual person and asked last term who they voted for, it was not Bush.

It all again comes down to who has the deeper pockets, and can promise the most to everyone, to vote his way, while he is in power to make you rich, and again fvck the people while doing it.

The President's job actually clearly needs a Constitutional Ammendment.

It was never intended for the Executive Branch to become a Monarchy.
