I got the Treasury of Bluegrass CD for Christmas. It's great! The O Brother Soundtrack has some good songs on it, too.

She's one of my favorite female vocalists, and she and the band have great chemistry.

Toss in some Gillian Welch, Del McCoury Band, Ricky Skaggs, John Hartman, Hog Operation, and, of course, Bill Monroe.

Oh, and have you heard Hayseed Dixie? Their covers of AC/DC songs are a RIOT!!

That's what I thought until they mentioned terms commonly used for bands. Such as, "live bluegrass is..." and "Try... albums."

Yeah, country just doesn't do it for me. I do like the occasional song but not country itself.

I think some of the musicians in Bluegrass are amazing. I've really been getting into that Treasury of Bluegrass CD. Guys like Ralph Stanley (Little Maggie) are just killing me. Being born and raised in North Carolina kind of helps I think. I'm used to this kind of old timey (hillbilly) music.
