Just started using Mika's proxy. And even though in the team anandtech pages, my profile states i'm canadian, but because i use @home.com as my isp, or maybe i guess coz my email add i used was hotmail.com theres a us flag beside my stats.

no offence or anything to americans, but is there a way i could get that flag changed to a big red maple leaf?

I'm from Norway and have the same "annoying" star sprangled banner next to my name If Mika fixes it for you I would sure like to switch flags too ... but I'm not sure it can be done without some mods to the script... might be too much, I don't know

Oh I just remembered, I swapped the email account I cracked under, and now I have some variant of the New Zeland or Australian flag or something instead of the US one

if its a big trouble, of course i wouldn't wanna cause anyone headaches... its just a nice luxary!
hehe... well, this is what i was thinking, the proxy checks the team database, and uses a flag based on whats found in the database, if no country is entered for the user, than use a flag based on domain name.

well, me dunno how the proxy works... but o well!

and i actualy started cracking for ta a month or so ago, i just only started flushing to the proxy now.

littleprince, AFAIK the script doesn't check the blocks against the TeAm database at all, the stats script only works on the keylogs that the proxy makes when blocks are submitted to it Thus the only way the stats have to put a flag in front of the name is the domain of the email addy, but recently Russ got a script made by Pinball and some others that swapped IP information out with a name, so the BORG can track they're individual stats on their own pproxy... maybe something similar is possible to pull off for the flags I don't know, but we won't know if we don't ask will we?!?

i have a Canadian flag next to my name on Russ's proxy, and there's only two of us there nice to have the flag there though

As I understand it, the root domain (com, net, tw, pt, etc.) determines the flag associated with that crack mail address. When we formed GiantNT4VizMechThunderStorm, we secured the .pt (Portuguese) email domain address so we would have the Portuguese flag. Stormgiant is the only Portuguese TA Member (to my knowledge) and us Yanks are a dime a dozen, so we had Stormy get that email addy so he/we could keep that identity.

The best way to resolve the issue would be to get a Canadian domain email address and retire your present email into the new one. Mika will do this with an emailed request. That way, your present stats will be retained, and you can get that spiffy maple leaf.

The other thing I can do is retire your email address into a "false" email address eg. yourname@home.ca

All that this does is change the name that is displayed in the stats on the Team AnandTech site, it does not change the email address of the blocks as they are sent to d.net.

If anyone wishes me to make these changes, please send me an email with your current address and the address you wish to show up.

I retired my old account to BuGs_ArE_TaStY@yahoo.ca, using a Yahoo Canada mail account. I'm number 15 or 16 on Mika's and the top Canadian flag there. Welcome LP, and see if you can pass me.
