I'm about to sign up for a WOW account. A few friends of mine have finally talked me into joining. I've done the MMO thing before, and luckily this semester is going to be very easy for me (one semester before graduation).

Who here has been dragged into WoW kicking and screaming but loved it afterwards?

was dragged in by my roomate last april, played it all summer and got my mage to 60 by august. come school time in sept i started pvping hardcore, but it was fruitless as i had to spend so much time to get the rewards, and it wasnt worth it. even worse, i tried doing raids, but they take all night to do and was completely bored out of my mind. i cancelled my account since i didn't feel like leveling up another char, which i feel was the best part. i might start playing TBC since the max num of people for a raid should be 10, that would make it more managable and notas boring, but we'll see...

Probably won't be a problem, I go to the bars and clubs all the time and wouldn't give those up for a game.

Well, I paid for a 3 month sub back in 05, quit after like two days, sold it to a friend for $100 (He doesn't have a CC so I took advantage of him). I think I got to like level 9 and said, "WTF this is dumb". A few friends of mine are the reason why I call it world of warcrack. Any time I had a party at my house I had to hide the power cables lest they logged on and ran molten core.

I've played WoW for the entire 2 years its been out, and for 8 months in beta before that. I've had dry spells and marathon sessions, but just remember to take a break and you'll be fine.
