I'm not sure why anyone would advertise that. SW Ohio is only good for Skyline chili and that's not a good enough reason to move there

Since you're homeless, it isn't too late to just keep driving, and go some place sensible like Maine.

Left Cali right? Pay raise, right there.

ohio is fun with taxes

city where you work can charge tax for working there

city where you live can charge tax for living there

school district you're in can also charge tax for living there

the cities/schools are allowed to make their tax up to %1 without even holding a vote

i was looking at houses, and 1 mile between 2 properties was the difference between paying %0 for school+city and paying %4 for school+city

Drove through a couple times. Not sure how Ohio managed to get THREE Microcenters and TWO NFL teams. But whatever.

invented micro center, i started going to the the original columbus one back in the 90s

also in the first pro football league (APFA in 1920, renamed to NFL in 1922), it started in canton and 5 out of the 14 teams were in ohio

driving on 80/70/71 through here only gives a little glimpse. there is a lot of nice areas and some big old money.

i love the summer and fall, but get a little more tired of the winter every year. i'll probably end up staying here forever though.

there's no way that skyline qualifies as chili

i have been to cincy and dayton and surrounding areas a bunch of times, but it always feels more like KY/WV than it does like ohio. basically everything south of 70 does.

Same here, SC. We even get to pay 1% extra on prepared food. But we pay a shit ton less than Cali.

What made you choose that location?
They have larger basements.
Plus I have 3 daughters, 5 grandkids and soon a great grandkid. (One daughter moved here because of her husband and two others followed over the years)
It's cheaper here, I like rolling hills. The weather is worse but I am retired, I can go into the house, pool or hot tub.

I was not aware of that and have never had an opportunity to visit one. Which sucks because I was in Columbus in 2019 for a business trip and would have gone, had I know they had one!

But what is more interesting is their back story.

Micro Center was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1979 by John Baker and Bill Bayne, two former Radio Shack employees, with a $35,000 investment. The first Micro Center store was established in a 900 sq ft (84 m2) storefront located in the Lane Avenue Shopping Center in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The store benefited from its proximity to Ohio State University and the scientific think-tank Battelle Memorial Institute, which provided a large customer base and a source of computer-literate salespeople. Their goal for the first year was $30 million in sales, and they achieved $29.9 million.

$35k invested with a goal of $30M in their first year? Crazy part is they practically did it!
