I feel like mods like I posted above are still justified if you are looking to watercool only the CPU, and don't want to deal with the extra work of a full custom system.

That setup is pretty pricey for what you get...

Corsair H50 ~$75
5x Scythe Ultra Kaze Series DFS123812M-2000 ~$50
Scythe Kama Bay ~$20
Feser TFC Xtender - Radiator Shroud 120 ~$18

Total ~$163

I consider it not too bad considering that setup will/should get you better temps then any thermalright, or megahalems, or even a DH14 setup, without the big, bulky heatsink.

And at the same time you don't have to deal with setting up a full custom water cooling system, which would be the logical next step.

There is no way that will beat a Mega or DH14 (laughing now!) at extreme stress. Socket 1156/775 system sure. 980X with 1.4V at 4.5GHz Linpack - no way - not going to happen. (unless you like to keep your radiator in a bucket of ice which is not very convenient - I know because I tried)

To each is his own I guess, but you're still limited by the abilities of the H50 in that setup.

Not everyone runs 1366, for the rest of us it's a great cooler. Personally, I can't stand regular HSF setups, too much bulk and weight, and traditional WC rigs can be a PITA (it has to be a labor of love). Corsair is working with OEMs on a big brother to the H50 and I think it will address the concerns of those who want lower temps on OCed S1366 CPUs.

Ok for the cooling gurus here. This is how I have my LianLi PC-Q08 setup right now:

The H50 radiator and a 120mm fan are sandwiched up top between that fan grill / opening and the side of the PSU. Right now, I have the fan sucking air into the case / at the H50 radiator. Since there's virtually no breathing room in this setup, does it matter if I have the fan the way I do or should I have the fan sucking air out of the case / away from the H50 radiator?

As I mentioned in a previous post above, I have an Intel i7-860s. I have the Everest sidebar gadget open right now and these are the temps. it's showing (PC is currently idling):

Core 1: 28C
Core 2: 23C
Core 3: 23C
Core 4: 23C

I just installed BOINC and have it running a couple of projects. After running it the whole night, I checked temps. (BOINC is still running). All four cores + the four virtual cores were at 100% utilization all night.

The current temps. (w/ BOINC still running) are:

Core 1: 61C
Core 2: 59C
Core 3: 61C
Core 4: 59C

Do those look ok or are they too high?

Also, if the H50 is working properly, are the sides of the radiator and reservoir supposed to feel very warm when you touch them?
