i just walked from the casino playing 4-8 holdem with $480 then i came in with. and this was only in 1.5 hours, i challenge anyone to beat that! if you have made more then $500 playing 4-8 in 1.5 hours my hats off to you cause i am just barely under it and i was on a rush!

I played 3-6 for 18 straight hours one weekend and walked out $12 ahead.

Congrats. However, it is my opinion that either you got lucky or you have a natural affinity for Hold 'Em or you played with some real dopes ... or a combo of the three.

If you think you are good you should sign up for the various poker communities (some good ones online too) and see how you really do. If you end up doing well then I would seriously consider taking it to another level and maybe try to qualify for minor tourneys and then move up to major ones. You can make *mucho* dinero playing poker.

Just ask Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan or any of the usual WSOP suspects. A good - if stressful - way to make a living. Great living potentially.

LOL I watched that too. Actually it was fairly interesting. I loved how Phil Hellmuth was talking smack the whole time.

If you're playing Hold Em and there is a limit(like $5-$10 whatever), winning big is heavily depend on luck getting good cards at the right time.

Now if you were playing Hold Em and everyone on the table put in a certain amount of money and you play NO LIMIT, then you can really say how good of a player you are if you win big. With no limit, bluffing and reading people is a skill.

With a limit, kinda hard to bluff people, you get what you get.

I won a small texas no limit holdem tournamate last year in Vegas, a small one with a $1,000.00 buy in. Last hand was I was delt a pair of 5's , and was just a little ahead in the money count, the flop was 5 - 5- Q he went all in I of course had a unbeatable hand and pondered for a while while he ran off at the mouth and I finially called him, he turned his 2 Queens I turned my 2 fives and I thought he was going to throw up.. No help from the turn and the river for him.
It was a good day.

BS i played every hand right! once your on a rush its a little easier to bluff at the pot which i was able to do a fw times.

these guys were playing like the game was 8-16, there were always at least one raise action and many times the action would be capped at the turn
