Yeah, can't we get rid of the liberal-hating and get back to the good 'ol days when the members of this administration were judged solely on their actions, and nothing more?

Seriously Rains, this new crew of "stupid liberals"-spouting posters are about as useless as tits on .. well.. me. But to suggest that they even come close to the anti-Bush, anti-Republican, anti-Christian, anti-Rich, anti-Corporation, etc spewage ever-prevalent here is quite the stretch.

Methinks you're trying to build a house of cards in a 70mph wind and complaining about someone breathing too heavily.

Have you read the threads lately? The forum additude has become much more pro-right and much less "thinking" threads.

The administration is judge on their actions, they're doing very poorly.

As for the vacation day thing, meh. Carter took less than any other president and we all know how ineffective and worthless that POS was.
Yeah he was about as ineffective as Bush has been! Luckily for us Reagan came along afterwards. We can only hope another strong and decisive Leader will emerge after the bumbling Dub leaves the office.

Could that be Hillary Rodham Clinton?????

Hey, Im a moderate!

Anyways, I'd have to agree with ya there. I was telling my wife a few days ago I feel like Carter is office again with some stations having no gas and the pump prices.

I think we'd be just as screwed if we had kerry though. Where in the hell are all the good candidates?

I'm proud of Bush for outing the loudmouths who still grasp at any straw reason to defend him, thinking one brief performance is enough to remove the stench from the dismal failures of his entire administration.

Carter inherited a bad financial situation that originated before he took office, but he was, and still is, one of the most honest, decent, intelligent and humane people to hold the office of President in our history. Of course those are qualities most Bush apologists wouldn't be capable of understanding.

I'm curious. Do you have anything intelligent to say? Trite immature and ad hominem attacks do nothing for your cause nor do they answer the question I posed. "What exactly is there to be proud of of George W. Bush?" Please if you have the capacity, list some actual verifiable accomplishments of this President that does not involve lies and spin. A speech is NOT an accomplishment.

Thanks!

Thanks, I've been meaning to post here for a while, but I've been a bit busy presenting factual arguments to the right over at another forum. Their refusal to admit any shred of remorse, guilt or fault is perplexing especially when the facts are out there swinging in the wind and hitting them in the face. I should be posting a bit more in the near future here.

Lay off the cool aid man. I mean WTF, you should have said "rising to the most important political position" or something like that.

Let's see. Registered today. First post. Elaborate anti-Bush signature. But I guess since Harvey likes you, the details of your potential returning-troll status will never be questioned, and you get a free pass. Huzzah!

LOL - How you can offer cookies to others while typing trollish flame-bait like that is beyond me. Yes, everyone who doesn't hail Carter as a great President does so because they don't understand honesty, decency, etc. It could never be because of his horrendous policies and general failings as a world leader.

The same route you take to go from Bush --> All Republicans, Rove --> Klan members, and Falwell --> Christians, I take the A-train to station 6, then jump on the Redline to Mockingbird. You probably don't see me because I sit in the back.

The father who watched his son:
  • Start a war based on lies, killing thousands of Americans and tens of thousands of others.

Run on a promise to cut spending and reduce the size of government, only to increase both to record proportions.

Give huge tax gifts to the wealthiest 1% of Americans while failing to fund emergency preparedness, national security, education, infrastructure maintenance, health care, etc....

Undermine and corrupt public health and safety by handing out jobs to industry insiders from big pharmacutical and energy companies and to incomeptents like Michael Brown to head FEMA.

Cover up those in his administration who outed a covert CIA agent.

Repeatedly and continually prove he's probably the dumbest, most inarticulate fsck ever to hold the office.
There's lots to be proud of, there.

LOL - yeah, we need more of these left-wing "thinking" threads:

------
Bush and FEMA to blame for missing lab mice

My uncle is a rich asshole thanks to conservatives

I hope Rhenquist rots in hell

Asking for ID when voting is another example of Republicans oppressing the poor and minorities
------

I'm sorry Tab, but even though I do see the sudden surge of right-wing posters, it is happening on both sides.

I'm sorry. But, I didn't see any valid response to a very real and valid question I posed in your trollish response. You managed to use an ad hominem attack on me and then you use observational selection to attack one of the most honorable and decent Presidents this country has ever had without providing a single shred of fact to back your up your juvenile response.

I have yet to see anything close to a well thought out and objective response from anyone that supports GWB. Is there any GWB supporters out there that can carry on a civil discussion without resorting to juvenile ad hominem attacks?

You really shouldn't base your opinion of him based on what he says in some speech. You should base your opinion of him based on what he does.

If all you're doing is forming an opinion of him based on what he said, then all you're doing is buying into rhetoric. This goes for all politicians.

That said, I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can be proud of a President that has enlarged the government and spends like a drunken liberal.

But of course, I'm not the most powerful man on the planet, who kills 100's everyday before breakfast and has the power to destroy countries, and actually does it. Nor am I idolized by millions. Nor do I pretend to speak with God. Nor do I surround myself with thugs and gangsters who steal billions. It doesn't matter what I say, I'm nobody to anybody and I know it, but the President of the United States, your leader, is an idiot. And that is insane.

Edit: Oh, thanks for the little cookie. I'm not totally sure what it means, but thanks.

I read all the posts and its cool. But last night President Bush talk about a lot of things plainly. That man has never talked racism ever before. He talk about poor people for the first time ever. Sometimes it takes a tragedy to turn some folks around. And I honestly believe dude is going to try and see what he said be carried out. Quite frankly he didn't have to do a damn thing or give a speech either. Maybe out of this tragedy something good will come out of it.

While I can see here nothing but politics and covering of ass and concern for Republicans and the next election coupled with a huge generosity with other people's money and more burden for future generations and more pork for corporations, if there were any way I could bless you other than the rather empty words of saying so, I would do so, for I love in you and in everyone that thing inside that has a hope and a wish for Light for others. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Sometimes it takes a tragedy to whack assholes like Karl Rove and Karen Hughs up the side of the head hard enough to figure the most expedient political strategy would be to pretend to care about the underlying problems.

We've suffered through five years of lies, mismanagement and outright corruption by Bush and his administration. If history is any guide, this speech is just more political expediency, and there is more than enough reason to doubt that he means a word of it. :|
