I am Setsuna (jrpg for PC) - anyone getting this game?

I just ran across this game on Steam. It's being marketed as a throwback to 16-bit era RPG's such as Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. Reviews seem to be pretty positive overall, and I do like to art style from what I've seen on videos and screenshots.

Anyone have this game yet, or plan to buy?

I plan on it, but not for awhile, too much backlog. Currently playing through Final Fantasy X HD (had X since it came out on PS2, and never played it..ugh).

I picked this up yesterday, played for about 2 hours and so far I like it. It does remind me of Chrono Trigger / Secret of Mana in a way, but it also has its own unique flair. The all-piano soundtrack is neat, but I'm wondering if I will get tired of it at some point. Combat is pretty good with pretty quick pacing, and I'm still working on learning more about the combo system.

Some may complain about the constant snow settings but it is yet to bother me. I also like to add that I really like the art direction in this game; the graphics and character artworks are great and remind me a lot of FF6 (3 on the SNES).

Things that I don't like at all so far: the NPC dialog is cheesy, boring, and very repetitive among most villagers. Honestly what's the point of talking to all of the villagers if they all have similar dialog.

The only other issue I have is the price. I understand that a lot of work went into this game as this is not a "RPG Maker" made game, but I believe that a Steam price of $25-$29 would of made it more popular. $39 asking price is a little much for this type of game, unless like me you're a fan of the old school JRPG's.

So, if you're hungry for an old-school JRPG experience and don't mind the price go for it.

If you're on the fence, I'd say wait for the Steam fall or x-mas sales.

I've been keeping an eye on this one but as you say I think I'll wait till it comes down a bit.

Agree completely. Really want it. Too much backlog, also have wow legion, Deus Ex, and Civ 6 coming out. Will wait until the steam winter sale and reevaluate it at that price.
