$13,000!? Dayammm. Ouch. Thud, skid Thud.

Your money or not, your wife has every right to be interested in that much cha-ching being tied up in the black hole, not to mention; even if you do pay that thing off as fast as possible -> your fee's are friggin' huge. Don't kid yourself about transferring to zero balance cards.

On another note, yesterday I just paid my last credit card off and I'm now CREDIT CARD DEBT FREE!! Cough, sorry man. I was in your spot up to $7,000.00 a couple years ago and it took until yesterday to pay the friggers off. had 3 cards, now down to 1 - just to keep a credit reference handy.

Good luck.

Looks like someone's gonna be peddling their ass on 10th street until those bills are paid.

dude, my GF makes a fuss about me buying $8.00 paperback book. God knows what she will do if I were to have that much balance on my CC.

this despite the fact that our combined income is going to be well over 100k.

What did you buy ??

indeed. you just (possibly) opened a huge can of worms.

"Wife found out my large credit card balance, called me at work, and said she was going to have a 'talk' when I get home. Oh man.....probably going to be single for Christmas"

Maybe you deserve it really, especially when running a relationship as if you're single! Forget about the spending habit (which is bad enough), but concealing the facts from her awareness?

I think it's so important to know your significant other's spending habits before committing yourself to marriage. It will become an issue suddenly if it wasn't before. There are usually signs, but people often ignore it.

She makes more than you? Now, that makes it worse 'cuz your behaviour seems ruder. Sorry, but the prospect isn't good at all . . . the only alternative is treating this as an addiction and agreeing to get help 'cuz you've really gone faaaaaaaaaaaaar. . . . All right, it's your issue and yours to resolve, Fritzo. Best of luck!

Anyone wanna take bets on whether Fritzo post here or at yagt.org first?

That is, if his wife didn't ban him from his internet connection.

Makes me appreciate being single and living at home. Granted, I've got almost as much debt from various sources, not to mention a fortune (to me, and most people with some credit sense) tied up in a new Nissan SE-R (GO NISSAN!)

I once had a $7000 balance.
However, it was medical related and I paid it off the next month.
I rarely get charged financial charge unless I forgot to pay my bill which only happened twice as far as I can remember, * sign * I can never get those $50 back...

13K isn't so bad when your combined income is 85K, but not telling her about it is.

Take the whipping boy, say you're sorry, say you'll never do it again, and give her something to make her forget about it.
