I am so fricken tired of Cingular!!!!

I was stupid enough to sign up for 2 years. Its almost been a year. I can not go another year with this piece of crap service Cingular offers. I always get disconnected when talking to friends with a message stating that the service is busy. Also, my friends can get service with Sprint or AT&T in so many places that I can't, and I live in the Bay Area (California), and not some farmland that's way out there. This is ridiculous. Has anyone been able to get out of a contract without paying a penalty fee? Any recommendations for getting out of the contract. I just want out so that I can go with AT&T. Cingular service sucks beyond acceptance.

I have cingular in Delaware... and its been really great, No problems whatsoever in the 6 months I've had it so far... not to rub it in or anything buddy...

East Bay, Califronia. Its not the best but I can live with it. Maybe I'll switch to AT&T but their phones selections are awful.

I just signed a two year contract with Cingular. :Q It dropped the price of my phone by $100 (instead of doing a 1-year contract). Their customer service operation stinks but the cellular service seems pretty much excellent here in the Philly area. Cingular bought the network from Cellular One who bought it from Comcast Metrophone (who probably bought it from somebody else). Since the network has been around a while, coverage is excellent. I can't remember the last time I had a dropped call. So Cingular is fine as long as you don't have to call their 800 number.

my cingular service was awful, i had no reception in buildings... but since like late feburary i have had not had any service problems what so ever!

Thats why I dropped those mofos. Two year contract my a$$. I dont do 2 year contracts!

I went with Voicestream about a year and a half ago. So far - so good.

Sprint PCS sucks bad here in Austin, but its cheap $24 (incl taxes) for 500 anytime and 2000 off peak. Can't really complain I guess.

I understand what you mean. I have the same problem too. I'm pretty sure it all depends on the phone. I live in the Bay Area too, and I get A LOT of "System Busy", "No Service", and I sound choppy on the phone. I have a Nokia 3390. My friend has the Siemens phone, and he sounds crystal clear and hardly ever gets dropped calls.

I guess it all depends where you are - in Atlanta , Cingular ( formerly Bellsouth Mobility ) is pretty good but AT&T Wireless sucks and SprintPCS isn't so great either.

I'm in the Bay Area as well, and I have Cingular too, and I often get dropped calls and "No Service" messages. It's weird, the salesmen for Cingular were really nice and helpful, but their network sucks.

My phone sucks everywhere. Bay Area. Davis. Reno. Only place it's good is on the freeways and even then I go through dead zones. Will probably switch to AT&T, my contract is up soon.

Come August, I'm done with Cingular for good. I'll probably switch to AT&T. I'm in the East Bay, btw.
