my truck got hit by golf ball sized hail when the previous owner had it, and you have to look real hard to see the little dents. that thing is built tough...

Blueghost, built tough? Built FORD tough?

(sorry, couldn't resist, with the suggesting that Ford/Chevy swap mottos and all)

Last December, my buddy and I were coming out of the mall about the time it closed, and a guy in a hurry to leave almost took us out while backing out of his spot. We walked a little faster, so we'd be farther from him, and about 15sec later, heard a lound *CRACK.* He had backed into a parked car at a high speed, pushing it into another parked car. This was a cold night...so the fibreglass bumpers were already brittle. The first car that he hit had a cracked bumper for sure, the second one I didn't notice. I hate to think what that cost those two people he hit.

Luckily for them, a movie had JUST let out, so the lots was filled with people. I was too far away, and the exhaust was blocking my view of his plates. But due to the movie letting out, someone was closer then I, and I believe they got his plates.

A 82 monte carlo backed into my living room, causing almost $20g's in damage.
all it needed was for it's bumper to be repainted.
As for the living room...it needed to be repainted too

Well it looks like we can get it fixed, hopefully, and my hubby got two job interviews today. Hopefully it will all work out. And damn, I thought my husbands driving was bad. :Q

that's still kind of old and I wouldnt call it good lookin.

Idiot. Another valued member shoots off his mouth. Not everyone is independently wealthy like yourself. Moron.

Sorry to hear about this GF. It is infuriating. These things always happen at the wrong time. I'll be an easy target tonight if it helps.

UH...am I the only one here that sees something horribly wrong with that statement?

Don't worry about the dents. After all, it is a FORD...hitting it probably improved it's looks.

Feel a lot more sorry about your hubby's job status than the car...at least he did not choose to lose his job, right?

But seriously. Shop around for a place that will do the bodywork and waive your deductable. Or go to a local vocational school or high school auto shop class, and you will get it fixed for a reduced rate (or FREE).

Those kids need all the learning experience with fords that they can get...'cause those cars will take up a majority of their time once they become mechanics.

GirlFriday

Normally, vandalism is not handled as an accident would be. On my policy with State Farm and I by no means have the highest price coverage, they pay 100% for vandalism.

First of all, I just have to say this. Those of you who don't think its a nice car, I don't care. The point is my husband worked his ass off for years, to get us to the point that we could afford that. And somebody comes along and just hits it and drives on, without a bit of consideration. So, you don't have to like it, or approve of our car of choice. And if you have a problem with it, well in the mood I am in today, (and I am saying this as nicely as possible), you can just kiss my ass to put it bluntly. If you want to run cars down, then go to one of the many car threads in this forum and have your fun.

We are still paying on the car, so while those are great suggestions Nova, I wouldn't do that. If we ever had a bad accident and totaled it, I would like to have as much of the money I paid as possible. But that was a good idea, thanks.

Tominator: Here is hoping my insurance is as good as yours, eh?

Sorry to hear the bad news about your car GF. Many people have absolutely no respect for the property of others. As you mentioned, you and your husband work your ass off to buy something decent and it gets "soiled" in no time flat...and the offender gets away with it. :|

I'm really sorry to hear about that GirlFriday. That sort of thing is so aggravating and inconvenient to have to deal with, besides the expense of course.

Are you sure no one saw what happened, a neighbor or passerby? Maybe you could ask around or put an ad in the paper asking if anyone passing by your address between the hours of such and such saw something unusual. The paper might even do it for free as a story about that sort of thing or you could write a letter to the editor about it. Just a suggestion.

Hope you find someone who'll fix it right and cheap. Good luck!

anyway, hopefully those people drive off a cliff. I'd be SOOO pissed if that happened to my mustang.

notfred: Read my initial post, I said newer, as in newer than anything we had ever owned.

montanafan: That letter to the editor is an excellent idea! I will have to look into doing that, maybe I could get some help that way. Thanks!

Hello Colleen,

"My husband and I finally were able in August, to afford a newer car. It's a 1996 Ford Taurus, and I love it. We have had nothing but pieces of junk for years, and it was such a good feeling to finally have something nice looking to drive around in. Well, get up this morning, and somebody hit it! Scratched up the entire drivers side, and put a big dent in the back over the wheel. Better yet, its a hit and run. They hit our car, and never even stopped to say anything. So now we have to file a police report, and go through our insurance to get it fixed. I love the way some people are....."

Congratulations on your husband working his way up to being able to pay for the new car! It's always a good feeling when you buy something and you know you've worked to earn it. And it's an equally discouraging feeling when right after that, someone destroys or damages your earnings. :|

I am sure everything will work out for you, you and your husband are great people and will pull through. Hang in there.

Girlfriday- It was me, I hit your car. It is payback for your husband crashing into the minivan with my car, that son of a .......:Q, or maybe it was revenge for your son throwing the ball through my garage window and breaking it, or it could be payback for your daughter ripping the top off my cd player, you have ruined my life ho!!

And no it's not a brand new car, but it is new to her, I love the way some people here miss the entire point of a thread!

Sorry to hear about your incident :frown:

I had a parked car (at the car in front of our house) get hit like that once, but it was daytime & I was home.. you can imagine the great driving skill involved in hitting a stationary object

I hope your process goes smoothly for you!
