I was at the titans/steelers game. Spelling it wrong is more acceptable than calling him 'Rossenburger' as the guy sitting next to me did throughout the game.
Yeah, it's "Worthlessburger".Originally posted by: theflyingpig

He can't, because according to:

Craig Morton lost both Bowls.

Yeah, but there's some bench scrub QB somewhere who's been on two Super Bowl winning rosters. That's what he'll claim.
What's that got to do with anything? Steelers are in the playoffs in spite of Worthlessburger, not because of him.Originally posted by: 2Xtreme21

Their defense is why they are winning, and why they won the last time they went. Worthlessburger was terrible in that game.
Not knocking him entirely....he's a good QB, but not great. Just on a great team. Simply winning a Super Bowl doesn't make a QB great. Trent Dilfer won one. Doug Williams won one. Kurt Warner won one.
They all played on teams with great defenses. Not one of them holds a candle to a QB like Dan Marino, who never had a running game OR a defense. If Elway's team hadn't come up with a running game and a great defense his last two years, he'd have never won a SB, and he'd still be one of the greatest of all time. Those two games didn't push him over some invisible "greatness" line.

Ummm, you MIGHT want to READ from that link. In 1999, the Rams were #1 in total offense, and #6 in total defense. That's pretty damn good, although I'll give you that Warner was having a miracle year.Originally posted by: rasczak

the 99 rams were not a great defense bud. that team was carried by that superior offense. imo kurt warner is a great qb. as for the other two, yes you can say that their defenses brought them those championships.

Nobody said, and if you'll READ my post, I said Ben is a "good" QB. But not GREAT. He's on a team with the best defense in the NFL. The Steelers haven't been out of the top 10 in defense since 1999, when they were #11. They've been number 1 in D several times in this decade.Originally posted by: sao123

you dont have to throw the ball 40 times a game and 5000 yards in a season to make yourself a great quarterback. Ben can do something that dan marino never could... the would be move out of the pocket and avoid a sack. Dan had several good recievers, Joe and Steve had Jerry, elway had smith and sharpe and TD... put any of those 3 on this steeler team al you still have a mediocre QB who thrown 9/15 for 180 in every game. Put ben in either of the above offences, and he's a legend. its called being a product of the system.
It doesnt mean hes not a good quarterback.

The only one that comes to mind is McMahon. He won the '85 Super Bowl with the [spitmultipletimes] Bears, then in 1996 he won another Super Bowl backing up #4 in Green Bay. While I'm very happy that I got to experience a Super Bowl win with my team, it still irks me that he was part of the team.

When the '96 Packers visited the White House after winning the Super Bowl, McMahon wore his '85 Bears jersey underneath his Packers jersey.
You know why?
Because his '85 Bears team did NOT get to go to the White House after winning SB XX because of the Challenger explosion.
I thought that was super-cool of him to do that.
