Lol. Will the T-56 fit in the SN197? I'm not familiar with the clutch/shifter mechanism in the new chassis.Originally posted by: 2fast4iu

LOL....... Just don't forget the bucket....... tranny pieces will rain....... (they do make a roots type blower for the v6.... about 400RWHP NON INTERCOOLED with a water / meth injection.....Not bad for a little old six!!)
You are absolutely correct. For me I wanted a car I could use as a DD run down the track, autocross and keept it reasonably priced. And that's what I got.
600 - 700 - 800rwhp IS ABSOLUTELY UNDRIVABLE..... ok for a track car for not a DD..... Also that kind of power requires serious suspenssion work to have any traction...
Most people do not understand what it is to have to drive a 600RWHP with a stage 4+ clutch and a solid "live" axel on the rain!!! It gets old very quickly....
Again nice choice of car for the money!!

After test driving a Mustang (V6 w/ leather) I have a new appreciation for the car now. Though I do admit that I voted "bad move" a day or two ago, but if I could, I'd take my vote back and vote "good move." The interior wasn't as cheap as I thought it would be, had plenty of hard plastics, but nothing worse than whats in a Mazda 6 or most Toyotas, interior surprisingly felt like a European car, from the round headlamp switch and HVAC controls, very elegant look and feel, even down to the font used. Car was very heavy, much like a German car, engine could definately use more HP, didn't really impress me there, handling was okay, didn't really get to push the cars limits in any sort of road with twisties. Fit and finish was pretty good, comparable to Toyota, didn't care for the exterior radio antenna, should be built into the rear windshield, engine compartment could use some plastic to cover up the engine, battery, etc. Overall, excellent car, though very disappointing gas mileage, with either the V6 or V8... Ford should definitely put in a modern fuel efficient V6 instead of the current 4.0.

duped into buying gap insurance?
Apparently you don't understand where the need for gap insurance might apply.
The back of the standard California contract reads like this, verbatim:
GAP LIABILITY NOTICE
In the event of theft or damage to your vehicle that results in a total loss, there may be a gap between the amount you owe under this contract and the proceeds of your insurance settlement and deductible. THIS CONTRACT PROVIDES THAT YOU ARE LIABLE FOR THE GAP AMOUNT. An optional gap contract (debt cancellation contract) for coverage of the gap amount may be offered for an additional charge.
I worked with a fellow manager, who totaled his car. Had he not had gap coverage, he would have been stuck over $11000  This is a common scenario in large metro areas.

My sister totaled her brand new Yukon about 2 months after she bought it. State Farm paid her about $1,000 more than what she paid and she had no gap insurance.

She must have upgraded her policy to cover payoff value. With most insurance companies this is not standard, and there is a difference in premium, which can sometimes cost more than the gap insurance. I've had customers who are car insurance agents buy gap insurance on their loans.

Is there any new car in production faster for that price?
As far as the image, I doubt anyone is going to screen the car for a GT badge and in absence of it tell me I'm driving a piece of ******.
Well, except for ATOT.
The average person won't. Actually, I'm sorry for being mean, I read on Car and Driver's comparisons that it is actually the fastest car in that price range. Here is the article.
You got a good price for it, and it's seems to haul ass. But, I still don't trust Ford's reliability after my mom's 2000 Ford Winstar minivan.

I don't want to seem rude, but a lot of this comments are just nonsense....
I have an 05 v6. It is supercharged, runs 12' on the 1/4, stock engine and tranny. 325RWHP 350WRTQ.
My friend has another v6 turboed, with cam/ head work and it runs 11's......
I still drive it daily, I also autocross it.
For the haters..... You have no clue what the s197 can do, and how well it takes to Mods....
I still spent less money than buying a GT and "adding light mods to it"...... and I am faster.
For the poster... If you have to seek advice on your purchase, I really think you chose the wrong car for you ...... you will be better off buying something else, maybe a Prius.

19 mpg city / 28 mpg highway for a fun car. Plus it takes regular unleaded.
Looks good to me.
