Ehh I highly doubt ur 0-60 times were below 6 with those 1/4 times and as we all know, you can't take off fast in FWD cars.

huh?

less than 6 secs 0-60 can be high 14's/low 15's. Mid 5's can be still high 14's in the 1/4, depends a lot of gearing.

You do realize there are 9sec and better FWD cars right?

That are HIGHLY modified but in street trim, it is very difficult to take off fast in a FWD car. Trust me I know.

We know you are a bad driver then.

Think of the SRT4...think Eclipse / Eagle / Laser non-awd models, the Omni GLHS, etc. Throw a Quaiffe in a hot FWD, etc.

Getting around a 6 sec 0-60 time for a FWD is hardly very difficult. Driving skill matters a lot.

But a 6 second 0-60 is NOT fast. Weight transfer will always kill FWD launches. Even the best limited slip differential will not help that.

I have an SRT-4 so I know how hard it is to drive a high powered FWD vehicle. The limited slip doesnt help much if at all on take off with the torque and wheel hop.

A bigger problem for FWD is torque steer, this is an excerpt from Car and driver
on the Dodge caliber SRT4, "Historically, putting big horsepower through a front-drive system carries an inevitable consequence known as torque steer. It was part of the deal with the previous SRT4, and despite various countermeasures ? equal-length half-shafts, for example ? it?s going to be part of the deal with the new one."
My car has much less HP (200) and torque steer makes for unpredictable launches I wish it was RWD .

May have been answered before but I'm too lazy to read through all the replies

Why only the V6?

Torque steer isnt really much of a problem as long as you have equal-length shafts like you said above and make sure you keep the wheels straight when you floor it and hold onto the steering wheel tight. I really don't get much if any torque steer.

My car (Malibu) does not have equal length shafts and way worse is the Impala SS W/V-8 FWD, Chevy should
have gone RWD with these cars as Dodge did..

The same happens with RWD...you need to know how to drive it.

The biggest limitation with FWD is not straight line, it's cornering under accelleration. When your steering wheels loose grip it's pretty bad.

You will enjoy the V6 'Stang. Thats the only thing that matters.

Oh, and don't worry about the price of it, everyone gets taken for a little bit. Even if they THINK they know whats goin on. Dealers have to make some kind of dough.

Everyone? My 2 year lease (15k miles) on an 07 328i Sedan is 322/month with $500 down. Don't think I got taken =)

Okay, I admit, i've gotten taken on my fair share of cars over the years too. No dealership is gonna lose money (except in the case of this BMW) on a deal knowingly.

Was the $500 "down" a security deposit or acq. fee? Or was it a cap cost reduction?

If it was the latter...then yeah...not necessarily "taken" but you didn't make a wise move lease-wise.

Nice car though! Seems like you got a good all-around deal. How's the mpg?

There was no security deposit, and it wasn't truly a cap cost reduction either (I don't think?) it was basically to help cover a little bit of negative equity in the trade in vehicle.

MPG is awesome/crap. Previous car was an 06 G35 coupe, so I often try to drive the 3 in the same manner resulting in mpg as low as 16. If I actually behave for more than a few seconds, however, I can and do average 23-24mpg.
