I bowled a 287 game and LOST $20. Ouch.

I fixed a computer for one of my brothers friends, and as payment we went bowling. Figures right? Why would I expect money?

anyway, we were midway through our second game, and I got annoyed with the 2 guys on the right and a guy on the left of us. The 2 guys kept badgering the other guy for a money game. They were all bowling 180's to 200's ( all 3 of them ) I was just messing around doing tricks and such so I would not crush the guy who was paying for my games. ( he said he had a 160 average, but he didn't like his ball, and never broke 120 )

So anyway, these guys were talking smack to the other guy, so I said, look. You want a money game, play me. they said sure, and waited for us to finish our second game. I think I had a 150 or so that game.

They wanted to play for $50, but I said I only had $20, and would be happy to play a winner take all.

I thought that I would teach them a valuable lesson about playing people you don't know. I didn't want to take $100 from them. I bowled on a league where the pot for the first place team of 4 was regularly over $2 grand, and also played for ISU when I went there. My average was a solid 230, but I had never played on these lanes before, so I had that handicap working against me, btu I was still 99% sure I could take them.

So one guy just plain sucked, choked, or whatever. He was out by the 5th frame. The other guy ( Found out his name was mario after we finished ) was damn good. We both 9 spared the first frame then struck out till the 10th. Every strike he tossed I would match. On the 3rd ball in the 10th, he tossed a 9. So I knew I had to get a strike. Well, I choked. Totaly. I got a big 6-7-10 split. Yummy.

So, Evadman bowled a damn good 287, and got stomped. Am I an idiot or what?

Anyone got $20 they want to lend me?

man, that's awesome. Where do you bowl? Only place I've ever been in Chicago is Diversey. I'm very happy with my all-time personal best of 162 thank you very much not bad for never playing more than once every 4-5 months, and then for no more than 3 games at a time. My wrists just start getting sore.

This was at a place by where I went to High school in Elgin off of Rt. 19. It was by this guys house, called Expo's. I play on leagues at Lakeside on Rt. 20 ( lake street ) by the beginning of the elgin-O'hare expsy.( sorta ) Not in one this year, ran outta time

I'll join. I took a bowling class last semester, and my personal high is still at 160, while I normally bowl a 115.

Sad thing is that I beat everyone I was playing against

I am from Chicago, and play at that place every so often. Waveland Bowl.....the only thing I hate is that is $6 per person per game.

$6?!? OW! Around here $3.25 for cosmic is about as high as you will find. $2.25 for league players @ Lakeside.

My best ever was a 244, but that was about 15 years ago when I bowled in a league while I was in high school. I never kept it up, and I haven't bowled over 200 in years. Lately, I'm lucky to bowl around 150-170.
