Yesterday I broke my arm and now typing with on hand. It won't be easy typing like this but I can manage. Doesn't really bother me. I broke it yesterday when I went outside and tripped over a bucket.

How is the break and how long until you gain the use of it?

Sucks. Was it a fracture or a full-scale broken bone? I broke my arm very close to the wrist once, playing soccer (my fault - did not warm properly). 2 weeks in the cast, and then some electo-pharesis (sp?). But now it's as good as new.

Sorry guy, hope you heal fast.

Don't accidents suck? When people ask how you broke your arm, instead of saying, "Well I was involved in a high speed chase with a CIA agent trying to stop some suspected terrorists." You get to say, "I tripped over a bucket, but it was a mean bucket."

Just think about how much worse off you would be had you kicked the bucket instead of tripping over it.

Haha. Well, at least it's better when you get a bone fracture because of your own stupidity. I was in 5th grade or smth, when I decided to set a record on how many steps on a staircase I could jump. I did a whole flight of steps, and then landed on a granite bottom, slipped, twisted an ankle and fractured it. Week and a half in a cast. I guess, you could describe the state of my classmates as 'shock and awe'

Not as bad as a kid in my class, though. He managed to break it bowling. Apparently, he just slipped and landed on his elbow. People gave him a hard time on that one for months.

It doesn't really hurt that much. What sucks is having the cast for 6 weeks and not being able to get it wet or bend your elbow. The pain isn't really a big deal.

Unless it's an open fracture. The worst part, I think, is to overcome the initial pain shock. First, you don't feel it fully - the aftrermath of whatever you were doing plus some adrenalin subdue the pain, but then the shock washes over you, and that's when you need to stay alert. If you are alone - you need to stay conscious at all costs.

last week my dad fell 10 feet off a scaffold at work and broke his wrist in 4 places, he has pins and screws in for 4-6 weeks and will have a cast for 6-8 months. look on the bright side, you could have that

Shock is the worst thing for all accidents! That sick feeling and the fear of having doing something severe is scary. I stabbed my hand with a long skinny fantasy knife and it went from one side of my palm in between my ring and middle finger and out the other side. It didnt really hurt that bad at all probably because I had a few beers before but I did feel sick when I was rinsing out the blood which quickly stopped bleeding. No stiches just a shot in the ass and some xrays. All is good now!

Nah, you go sort of numb after the endorphins kick in.

I've broken every limb but my right arm...
