A week later, the cold spread fast throughout the office as everybody who came to the second floor used that door, so 15-20 people ended up getting sick. This is why micromanagers suck who tell you not to call in sick.

policies like that are bullshit. what if your doctor is like mine and nearly impossible to get a sameday appointment?

you should have planned ahead pal. poor planning!

Emailed me boss. I'm gonna stay in and enjoy my weekend.

I called in sick one day last week and I was fine. I actually ended up getting sick that afternoon and had to take the next two days off.

Just make sure you don't go to a party tonight and get your picture taken while wearing a pink fairy costume. It'll make it back to your boss.

there is nothing wrong with my doctor. if i am sick with a 24 hour stomach bug, bad cold or flu there is no reason to see a doctor and waste their time with a illness that they can do nothing for.

^^ Quoted for Truth. Last time I was sick I called my doctor and they didn't have any appointments available for a week. I had to go to an emergency care clinic, and pay $40 co-pay. Policies like that are bull****, and it's why I was laughing when half the office got sick because my boss wouldn't let me call in.

People were giving me odd looks as I was pale white and drenched in sweat the whole day.

I don't know if I would have had the balls, but why didn't you tell your boss to shove that policy up his ass.

I showed him how I felt by getting a job at another company.

no point calling in if your actually sick as you won't enjoy your day off as much

QFT. I hardly call in sick when I'm actually sick.

My girlfriend had a rule; if she was sick, she always went in to work, because if you're going to be miserable anyway, why waste a day off? As long as you can isolate yourself from other people, going to work sick is fine.

Taking a personal day when you need it is important. If you don't feel motivated, you get to work, you space out, you neff on ATOT all day, and nothing gets accomplished anyway. Might as well stay home and enjoy yourself.

You guys must have some CRAPPY jobs. The day I dread going into work is the day I find a new job.

Sick days are meant to keep you from getting others sick, use them losers.

You are also the reason so many companies require a doctor's note as proof now when most of the time it's just a waste of time to go in and be told you just need rest.

Calling in sick when not sick is not cool in my opinion. Just take a vacation day.

I'm sick today, but I just started my new job this week so I can't take any time off yet. On top of that my last job's insurance ended December 1, my new doesn't start until Jan 1. So I don't even have insurance to help me pay for a doctor's visit.

If I feel like ass and I have the sick time to use you can bet your boots I'm going to take the day off. I don't need to see some doctor to know I'm not feeling well and just need to take some OTC cold meds and rest. I would have to check my contract but I believe anything over three consecutive days of sick time and a doctors note must be provided.

I love using the old "Dentist appt. at 3" on Friday method. Gets me off work early in the afternoon because later I just end up spinning my wheels and I can't concentrate.

A lot of people have PTO instead of "sick" and "vacation" time, so it's the same thing anyway.

Except that not everyone has that option.

You don't get any vacation?

My issue is with the deception, not the terminology.
