I just told my father - he's very supportive of me. For the first time, I really cried when I talked with him - and I'm usually a person who holds my emotions in. I felt comfortable telling my fahter and step-mother because my stepmother's best friend in gay, and they've been friends since grade school. I wasn't fearing really any rejection from them, and it wasn't what I got. I'm glad that I can finally be honest with some of the people in my Family, and no longer have to lie to the people I love.

I can only hope that my mother takes it as well. I shall see when that day comes.

Congrats and good luck to your new found freedom. Like most gay people I know, coming out is like a giant weight being lifted.

I remember a friend of mine an older girl was telling me she was gay. She was about 19 and I was 14 or 15 and very very naive. I remember her telling me and I had no clue what she was talking about. She had to basically spell it out for me. I was like "you mean you dont like guys at all? You want to be with women? I dont get it... I know I want to be with women, but why would you?" I was such an idiot I honestly didn't know anything about homosexuality.
Anyone remember the Simpson's where Marge is trying to tell Homor about that guy being gay?
