I'm wondering why you were worried about telling a lesbian that you are gay. What was she going to do? Call you a pervert and say you'd burn in hell? Doesn't seem likely. I dunno... seems to be about the least threatening person you can come out to.

Congrats. A big weight off of your shoulders, eh? How long have you known you were gay? I'd hate to have to hide something like that. My friend said he was kinda pissed that he didn't tell everyone sooner - everyone was fine with it and really didn't give a crap.

Thanks. Admitting to myself that I was gay was never realyl an issue, although when I was 11 and realized what homosexuality really was, I did think that I had AIDS for the longest time just because I was gay. Good thing I didn't come out then: "Mom, Dad, I'm gay and I'm going to die because of it!!! WAAAAAAAA "

Not yet, but I don't fear their reaction as much. I've set a goal in my head to let them know by the end of the year, but I want it to be in person when I tell them (and they live in another state, so It's kind hard to arrange that). The only reaction I fear in my mothers, but I know my dad, step mom, and stepdad will be cool with it. I guess that hearing your child is gay is not something most parents want to hear, but I'll deal with it when the time comes.

I find it amusing that the large majority of posts are supportive and positive in nature, considering my thread about being mistaken for gay, where most people used the term in a derogative context. Of course, they know I'm straight, so that makes it acceptable, right?
