So yea pretty much what the title says. I know these 2 games are completely different games but Im having a hard decision as to which game to get. I have loved all the Battlefield games and Oblivion(have not played any other TES games) happened to be one of my favorite games of all time. So which one would you guys pick and why?(playtime, replayablitity,MP,SP,etc)

btw it looks like I am leaning towards Skyrim and yes I will be getting one of them for the PC if that plays into a factor.

I think battlefield has a better track record and it's an online shooter so there is a high chance it will be good. Might come out buggy though, I know Bad company 2 was buggy at first.
I really liked morrowwind but Oblivion looked like Ontario and the world was too small. Skyrim is wait and see for me.

Skyrim just because BF3 will drop in price very fast, plus I am tired of shooters and need a good RPG.

If you liked Oblivion you probably will like Skyrim, the game looks very similar as far as the skills and the making of the game more accessable to new people goes.

BF3 won't have much replayability in the single player campaign, multiplayer will be the focus. Skyrim will let you put 150 hours + into it if you go for everything and get the DLC.

Both.

I tried picking one, but I could not tell a lie.

Probably start with BF3 and when wanting to switch to something new, grab Skyrim when it's at a lower price (and much more importantly, once it's been patched once by Beth and then that patch has been patched by Beth's slaves the community

Tough choice. Since you liked Oblivion so much I would side with Skyrim because it looks similar in most of the positive things. Lots of hours of playtime for either side potentially, as long as you enjoy the BF3 multiplayer enough to keep at it. Both series have a history of being fairly buggy at launch so I don't see much favoring either side on that.

And like others have said, shooters tend to drop in price quicker. It's entirely possible that BF3 will have a price drop at certain places around the holidays to steal some thunder from MW3.

I get both and just wait for deals. 42 bucks for Battlefield from Amazon downloads and waiting on something similar from Skyrim.

BF3

I'm going to wait the Game of the Year Edition for Skyrim and after all the huge bugs will be worked out. Both make buggy games but all the dlc that we know is going to come out for Skyrim, I'd rather wait for the pack. Plus since it's singleplayer, I'm not in any hurry and won't get left behind.

Skyrim is single player and the experience will always be there even if you wait 6 months for a steam sale, BF3 is multiplayer and if you miss the chaos of release week you can never go back and experience it!

BF3. As others have said, whether you like one genre more than the other doesn't really matter. Skyrim is a single player game and won't have changed from release (or will have for the better). Assuming you are playing BF3 for the multiplayer you'll be up against players that know that map and have ranked up if you wait.

Buy BF3 at release and Skyrim whenever funds allow.

These are two completely different games. But if I had to choose one for some weird ass reason, I'd go with Skyrim.

I'd go with BF3.

Skyrim will probably be infinitely better with a few patches from Bethesda and, more importantly, a bunch of fan made patches and content.

While BF3 will likely have a few bugs at release as well, they wont likely be game breaking and theres no fan content to wait for. Also, starting a new FPS after others have been playing for months can be painful until you get a grasp of the maps and mechanics. As long as you are in to online multiplayer, BF3 should have a lot more replayability than Skyrim.

This, exactly.

Also, if you wait, mods will make Skyrim much better.

Really depends on what you want because they are drastically different games, I guess Skyrim would be better if you can spare long lengths of time and have the patience to really sink your teeth into the game, Skyrim will probably be a much more relaxing experience where you can take things at your own pace and require a lot of investment before it starts paying off in satisfaction.

Battlefield 3 can be played in shorter bouts and since it's a multiplayer game, you don't really have to get too much in depth (unless you want to be competitive at the game), it's gonna be a tense experience with lots of action and quick, instant-satisfaction gameplay, probably better if you have a shorter attention span or not a lot of time to play video games.
