I CAN'T ENABLE THE SLI MODE!!! on my DFI NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT

my main problem is when i install my two 7800gt 256mb from bfg, after i reboot, then when windows comes up again, =control panel, display, then nvidia tab, then select SLI MULTI GPU, says: yOU MUST REMOVE ANY GRAPHICS CARDS THAT ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NVIDIA SCALABLE LINK INTERFACE (SLI) TECHNOLOGY BEFORE YOU CAN ENABLE SLI.


driver version 81.98 / 81.95/ even 77.77 do the same think.

Ouch. Almost sounds like you got cards with different bioses or something, although that shouldn't matter with the newer drivers. Are the 6-pin connector's plugged into each card?

Ouch. Just one of the MANY MANY MANY problems of DFI CrashParty boards. I got the Expert one for about a week, nothing but headaches, corrupted files, failure to boot, I'm lucky I still had the patience left to take it out of the case or I would have just thrown the whole computer out the window at that point. I RMA'ed it for an ASUS A8N32-SLI and I'm happy now

have you flipped the SLI bridge?

did you connect the SLI connector between both cards?

If yes to both of those, i would flash to a new motherboard BIOS.

did you connect the SLI connector between both cards?

If yes to both of those, i would flash to a new motherboard BIOS.

Expert boards don't have SLI bridges.

Hmm...

Double hmmmm. I went through about 5-6 motherboards before I settled on my Ultra-D. It is by far the best motherboard I have used. They require more fine-tuning, but they scream once you do.

Then its a bios setting, correct? Have you configured the BIOS for SLI operation?

Another vote for the DFI board being the best NF4 mobo around.

I have an Asus A8N32-SLI mobo sitting here for sale, I hate it. The BIOS is the most annoying BIOS I have ever come across.

Back on topic:

As said before, the Expert is jumperless... not bridgeless...

Make sure you have SLI enabled in the BIOS.

Other than that? Flash as suggested above.

ok, I just confirmed with my neighbor who has a DFI Expert.

Default single catd setting is "16x" in the PCI Bus setting.

Change the PCI-E Bus width to "16x/16x" to enable SLI.
