I can't think of a single thing that I couldn't give up (save for food, water, air, and good health). The one that I would miss most of course is my GF. But I'd survive just fine without her.
I've had a rice cooker and I've cooked rice on the stovetop in a pot. Both are the same amount of effort and the same amount of time. I just don't see the need for one. Throw in a bit of water, rice, and if you want any flavorings. Then wait 20 min for white or 40 min for brown. Simple as that. I let the rice cooker go in the divorce since it was actually more work (cleaning it wasn't as simple as tossing into the dishwasher).
Ricecooker fans here need to see how easy it is to make high quality rice without one. Sure, you may burn 1 cents worth of rice on the bottom of a pan if you aren't careful. But who cares about a few grains of rice?
