Towards China in the Olympics. What the heck is up with that crap? Just about every sports that doesn't have a conclusive finish, you'll see bias scores from the judges.

I'm not just talking about one event, but it's been obvious from multiple events. What's the controlling body for corruptions in judging the Olympics? Why aren't they investigating some of this crap?

It happens in every Olympics. When it happens for us we go "Go USA! Go USA!". But when it goes against us we go "Waaah! Waaaah!". We're the biggest whinny cry babies on earth!

Dude, kindly stfu, please.

I couldn't careless which country comes out on top in the Olympics, as long as the spirits of the Olympics is unspoiled.

It irks you when you see obvious flaws, and they're awarded higher points. BULLSHIT!

Diving is on, go watch it and tell me of your opinion later.

Which is why I don't care for the 'judged' sports. Give me something with a solid score that the athletes themselves control.

the Olympics should transcend politics, but sadly it seems to do just the opposite; it subverts itself to political motivations and manuevering. But governments won't hesitate to kill large masses of innocent people if it will further their will, why would they care about whether an athlete receives a deserved medal, if it is in the best interest of politics to cheat.

Bela Karolyi was almost in tears over the gymnastics judging. It seems pretty crappy to me, some of those girls on vault (or whatever the thing is where they run and push off the table thing) took huge steps or outright fell down on their landings but still got high scores. A Chinese girl and the Korean girl that won, if I remember correctly. Total BS.

Yeah, well the joke is on them in the end - they live in a shitty communist country with an oppressive government. Suckers.

Shame that most of you are to young to remember when there was obvious bias in terms of East vs West.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of the athletes are content with the judging knowing what they did wrong or what the other team(s) did right. It's funny how so many of you think you're experts on judging these competitions that are probably based on "OMGZ DAT LOOKS PRETTY IT SHOULD WIN DA METALS" despite the fact that the countries are never judging themselves and are incredibly experienced with their respective sport and are the top tier of judging in their respective sport.

I'll also be the first to say that I do think there was not-so-good calls on judging, but get the "obvious bias" BS outta here.

definitely. the rules are totally flawed too. why do they drop the lowest score? they should calculate who has the lowest standard deviation in the scores... so liukin had 9.0, 9.0, 9.0, 9.1 and the other girl had 9.1, 9.1, 9.0, 8.9. so when they dropped the bottom score Liukin lost. but they should have used standard deviation to show that the judges were in more of a consensus for Liukin's score. consensus is key, imo. dropping the lowest score is retarded.

You can't make those claims for bias after the fact. These tie-breaking rules were set a long time ago. It's legit to argue that the Chinese were given favorable ratings but the tie-break itself was completely impartial

So replace one arbitrary tiebreaker with another (that just so happens to give Liukin the gold)?

Liukin was robbed on judging. The tiebreaker is a sham, I know, but all gymnasts knew about it coming in. When they competed, they had tacitly agreed to the tiebreaking rules.

Also, note my issue is with the judging; that has NOTHING to do with Chinese gymnasts.

i have no problem with the fact that liukin lost. i'm no expert in gymnastics, i couldnt tell who was better. but before they revealed the tie breaker policy on NBC i was thinking about what would be the best rule to use, and that is it. dropping the lowest score is just ridiculous. there is no reason for it. but the rules are the rules, im not complaining about it.

That allows judges to more easily tank a gymnast since they can post a low score that will widen their standard deviation. WHen you remove an entire score, it's hard to tank or overly help a gymnast unless all the other judges give around the same score.

Why dig up the past? There's no good dwelling on it, move on. We're talking about shiets that's happening right now.

AND WHAT THE FACK IS UP WITH THE LOSER GETTING ALL THE CAMERA TIME IN THE WOMEN'S HURDLE?

Edit: To the apologists...

I don't know about you, but from the commentators on TVs, which are the experts at these things we do know what they're judged on (and they're calling BS too). Oh, that and the landing on the knees is a bit tricky, I know it's tough since everyone else tried to land on their feet.
