Oh the Chinese wrote the tie-breaking rules in the Olympics? I thought the IOC did that. My mistake.

And wait, there's bias towards the Chinese from judges who are NOT Chinese, because why again? Everyone loves Communist China? Oh wait.

And the girls, oh man they are so young. Do you know what sort of advantage that gives you? When you're years younger, less fit, trained less, and less physically strong. Oh wait.

And the pollution. Oh boy. What are they making in all those damned factories. What? The shoes, plastics, computers, toys, flashlights, helmets, sunglasses, etc we all wear. Oh wait.

Let me put it to terms you can understand so you can quit making excuses...

Perfect performance - we'll give you whatever points we feel like.
Almost landed on face - oh, we'll give you enough points for a medal.

Screwed all you typed, my points are much stronger.

And oh wait, if you haven't watched MSNBC lately, those factories that's making all your cheap stuffs? Yeah, they're being shut down or production has came to a halt. So much for the booming economy that's they've been riding on for the last 3 decades or so.

That's what happens when you introduce higher wages, more informed workers, and an appreciating currency. Enjoy.

Here's the thing:

In the vault finals where Sacromone came in 4th: Yeah, the Chinese girl had a higher difficulty vault. So what? You only put that in your program if you think you can land it. If it was acceptable to win with a higher difficulty vault by landing on your face then everyone would do it and not care whether they actually landed it. Not to mention the bad landing was caused by bad form on the entire vault which should have contributed to more deductions.

On the balance beam in the individual all-arounds, there were obvious balance corrections by the Chinese teams where they pinwheeled their arms. Yet they only received the same amount of deductions as people who didn't have balance checks.

Call it sour grapes if you want to, but the scoring has been far from perfect and it seems like a lot of the errors have been in favor of the Chinese. I'm just glad that Nastia and Shawn will get to bring home some gold for THEMSELVES because of their performances. I don't even look at it as a USA vs. China issue. I personally just hate seeing young people put on great performances under immense pressure and then be held to different scoring standards.

No one seems to mention that Alicia's final vault has the 3rd lowest difficulty, when ranked among the 16 vaults in the finals. She executed fine but when you want to MEDAL....try something more difficult?

The chinese girl could have fell on her face after taking 10 steps on her dismount - it is still only a 0.8 deduction. She had a sizable advantage in the difficulty of her vault.

I think the scoring system is wacked but all the gymnasts and coaches should be aware of the system.

Everybody gotta hate on China because everybody gotta hate on the success of others.

I'm half Chinese so I don't hate China, let's get that straight. I hate the effin bias judges from other countries somehow feel it's their obligation to screw up the competitive spirits of an Olympic.

I'm not speaking from a US vs. China point of view, though many think it is, or world view tends to pitch it that way. I'm just being a fair human being, so call me what you will, but the fact remains that the scoring is effed up.

The Olympics are a corrupt joke. Just get used to it. The fact that China even has this Olympics ought to tell you something about how crooked this event it.

I rememer 30-40 years ago when the judges from the Soviet Bloc nations were every bit as biased in their judging. Nothing has changed, only the cheating countries.
"If you can't beat em, cheat em!"

Or, as my Senior Drill Instructor told us, "If you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin!"

Well, I agree that in MANY things that may indeed be true, but in something like the Olympics, it just ain't right, BUT, as long as China has the big bux and the political stroke they do...they'll get away with cheating and judging bias.

Wtf? China has the big bucks and politcal clout? You do know the USA is the richest and polically most powerful country in the world? Didn't the NBC bribe the IOC to change the event times for the swimming so America can watch Phelps during prime time? I wonder how other swimmers felt about that.
