A review of retail nForce board. What cant you understand about that statement, Orbius?? I understand a review cant be done until these boards are being massed produced, but, being that this is Anand, I'm sure he'll get a hold of some samples well before they are being shipped to stores, if he doesnt have some already. Each manufacturer will add there own touches to the boards they produce, therefore HOPEFULLY, adding some improvements.
And whats this with the Athlons not being able to take advantage of a 4.2gb/sec transfer rate...?? Does nVidia need to start manufacturing there own processors now too???
<< In the case of the current nForce, the added bandwidth of going to a dual channel (via two controllers) DDR SDRAM memory bus is not really used. The reason being that the Athlon's FSB can only provide bandwidth equivalent to one 64-bit DDR266 SDRAM channel (2.1GB/s) not two (4.2GB/s). This makes the IGP-64, with only a single 64-bit SDR/DDR SDRAM controller, much more sensible for most users. >>
Chipset drivers, videocard drivers....???
<< Chipset drivers aren't like videocard drivers, what exactly are you expecting? >>
