I challenge YOU GirlFriday!

Hello. I see most everyone on the board worships your counterstrike ability. I used to be good in my day, and I challenge you to a match, to be played the week of thanksgiving, on the server and time of your choice. Anyone else that would like to come watch, is welcome. In fact, if we get enough ATOT people, I would love for them to take on my old clan. It would be nice target practice for us.

Dude, if she trains back up to her former peak you're gonna regret making that challenge. I used to play with her/teach her a little in the early days and within two months she had so utterly passed me in aim and reaction time that I stayed far, far away from 1 on 1 encounters with her.

I can't teach you now! CounterStrike after 1.0 caused a slightly bigger grimace with every revision. By 1.3 I had to take it off my system and declare it heresy to be ever played again.

Omega, there was only one known weakness to the assault commando affectionately known as Yeeny. She was utterly terrible at sensing an ambush. I shot her in the back far more often than we met face-to-face.

Nod. I have to agree with the 1.3 thing. Thats why this match would be interesting...she is out of practice, and so am I. 1.3+ just ruined it, and hackers came outta the woodworks because seirra wouldnt listen to punkbuster. Now look what happened.

Its so unbelievably lame, that after whatever version you can no longer move hostages. Wtf is that I mean its terrorists vs counter-terrorists and on hostage maps you gotta either:

1.) Rescue the hostages or any remaining ones
2.) Kill all terrorists

1) Who promised you?

2) How much experience do you have with first-person shooters

3) do you have half-life?

I don't know what people are talking about....cs is still a great game.

I just uninstalled Half Life the other day so that I could recover some sleep time.

As far as hackers go, arguably C-S is clearly cleaner now after CSguard and other anti-cheat mods (one from Valve) came along, rather than before when Punkbuster was the only anti-cheat.

I think people should quit whining about the game changes since 1.3. Jumping around and dominating the game just isn't realistic by any stretch of the imagination (although it's fun). The game is no worse off than before even if some veterans leave forever.

The only qualms I have about the changes are that it was done to a well-entrenched game (clearly changing a large group of people's expectations of a game is always a risky move), and that the jump fatigue was a bit too drastic. If you jump at all, you're even more vulnerable to snipers once you come down. If anything, I believe the AWP should either cost a hell of a lot more, or should be less dominant. I don't think the game designers expected the AWP to be used in totally dominating fashion out in the open. That's just my opinion, but I don't see how running around and firing accurate, clean strikes w/ the AWP while under duress is realistic combat. Switching from the AWP to pistol and back is too quick also, which only goes to enhance the sniper's effectiveness. On too many maps, games just become AWP-fests.

It's been a loooong time since I tried to shoot through Yeeny's butt armor. Before 1.3 my powers of confusion could carry the day. It would be interesting to see how far my skills have atrophied.
