Sweet looking gun...and I agree on the Glock feeling "chunky", nothing else against them just don't care for the way they fit my hand either. I'm finally getting all my parts in this week for my new AR and will be building it shortly, can't wait for it to be up and ready for a trip to the range

Let us know how it shoots, a friend of mine has this on his short list of new guns so some first hand info would be nice to pass along

Shut the fuck up you fucking pathetic excuse for a man. If you don't like guns, don't click on the thread and go back to jerking off over trees and polar bears while taking it in the ass from your Apple loving boyfriend or whatever the fuck people like you do.

How is this not ban worthy? I guess they let any little internet tough man into the forums and let them say whatever they want?

i see no point in a .40 at all, especially when .45 is about the same price.

i hate buying guns in new calibers because then you have another caliber to buy ammo for. it's expensive enough buying for calibers you already have.

Flatter shooting along with higher capacity in most cases. Not to mention there are plenty of .40 S&W loads out there today which mimic the standard pressure big brother 10MM loads.

Double Tap for example sells a 200 grain JHP pushing 1,100 FPS. They also sell I think a 135 grain pushing 1,500 FPS.

I like the .45 ACP and have several.

Many combat pistols are only available in .40 or 9mm cuz you can get quite a few more rounds in a full length magazine vs. a 45. Not to mention the decreased recoil which makes for easier handling, especially in a compact weapon.
Although you are correct about the price. However, since man stoppers like Speer Gold Dots are so expensive anyway, economics should not be your main concern. When you life is on the line (in the course of duty or at home, alone) money shouldnt be the issue.

Check out recent chronograph testings of Double Tap ammo, you'll probably find their claimed speeds aren't measuring up to what people are getting.

Why settle for .45 ACP when you could just get 10mm. 1911 model guns are available in 10mm. The 10mm Glocks are the same size as the .45 Glocks.

Looking at 10mm, here's some chronograph date from drsjr1969's Youtube videos. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak5OC6bPsjO8dEh6eGZ3N3hpUU13SXM5cm9pZy16T0E&hl=en#gid=0 You can see who loads hot ammo, and how far Double Tap is off their claimed mark. Underwood, Reed's, Elite, and Buffalo Bore have some of the hottest ammo.

"Research"? Or did you mean that one thread we had on it?

And glocks arent chunky. They are solid.

Oh, and put some militec on that thing. It works.

Glocks don't feel right to some. I don't like Glocks feel in my hand.

OP, hope you have all those guns secure.

Capacity difference between .40 and .45 is negligible, maybe 2 in a full size...and perceived recoil is more harsh with a .40, I've fired the exact same gun in each caliber and the .45 "felt" much easier to control, popular consensus is the .40 has much more muzzle flip and less control, now 9mm does give appreciably more capacity and control...IMHO

Oh, those are 2 separate pieces they just look like one thing the way I put them in there. They're different sizes of grip backs that you can swap out to fit your hand better.

I like what I thought they were better. The image of a foregrip on a handgun still amuses me.

Because 10mm is freaking expensive. Even aluminum cased Blazer is 50 cents per round.

By comparison, I can get brass cased (I reload, so I use them) .45 for 33 cents a round.

Plus the .45 has probably the most distinguished history of any handgun cartridge. If it's good enough for two World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, and the Gulf, among many other conflicts, it's good enough to defend my home.

+1 that glocks don't fit my hand that well, they feel chunky/blocky and cheap. Sort of like someone shaped a 2x4 to kinda fit your hand and fashioned a barrel on top.

I really don't care for any of the plastic guns. I sold my XDs, and have gone to all 1911 style. I like the thumb safety much more than the backstrap and trigger safety setups.

Plus I'll take a 1911 trigger over a plastic wonder-gun any day. People talk about how under stress I'm going to forget the safety, no, not really. When I'm watching TV I just pick a point on the wall and practice drawing/dry-firing during the commercials. It's to the point where if I point a gun without the 1911 safety I still instinctively swipe where it would be.

A little bit of an exaggeration here. 9mm is a perfectly viable self-defense round. I know what you mean, though, I enjoy 45acp for better stopping power over the 9mm, but a 9mm will more than likely also stop its target, and you get get far more shots before reload with better accuracy between shots at speed. For the better shooter who can handle 45, and handle it accurately, sure, but I still think there's something to be said for the increased capacity of a 9mm. That said, I think my next purchase might be the new XDm 3.8" compact 45. I just wish I could find one to take to the range a bit before I buy.

Also, if you shoot ISPC/USPSA production then there is no score benefit to shooting larger than a 9mm/.38. Just makes your ammo cost more

I agree with you on all counts. If your carry gun has a safety, then practice with the safety. This is more an issue if you're sharing guns or something. If you're the type of person that "needs" to be able to wildly yank a gun out and thoughtlessly squeeze the trigger 10 times then a glock isn't the answer, you need to carry pepper spray instead.

I also just like metal guns for some reason. If you make an excel spreadsheet comparison then a polymer will win (doesn't corrode, lightweight, etc etc) but they just don't feel as good when shooting or handling.

Also agree on the trigger, I'll only buy SAO guns from here on out other than the p32/p3at and clones - and my pocket gun is a p238.

Nice, the PPQ is on the top of my shortlist at the moment. Being a lefty, the fact that it's fully ambidextrous is a plus.
