What? You know yourself that if Vader was not affected by feelings for his only son, that he would in fact destroy him. His mind was clouded...

WHOOSH!!!!!!!!

also, don't bring your geekery into this. I thought you wanted to be serious.

Atheist or religious are the only options?

You either have faith or do not.

So? Not having faith does not mean you believe there's no god.

he could have made an option for agnostic as well, but technically that is believing in a higher power so that would be religious.

I'm sort of in between, was Baptist then Agnostic. Now I'm sitting on the fence betweek Agnostic and Atheist.

Well, imagine if you were told that the flying spaghetti monster created the earth. That's exactly how I feel about your god, so yes I do think that it's funny that people still believe in any higher power.

And if you want to ask me, "well then what created your universe?", I'll ask you what created your god? (I'll give you a hint, it's authors)

It's a sympathy vote since you've been such a whiney dick about the whole thing.

Good job!

Actually I shouldn't say I don't know any in real life, I do, my friends younger brother who is in high school. He goes to an all guys Catholic school and my friend and I joke around that he is the anti-christ.

You sound extremely fair and tolerant.

I am not anti-elwayite

I believe that John Elway was sent to bring the Broncos out of mediocrity, towards the land of Superbowls and MVP's and although it was a long journey the broncos settled upon greatness. Then with his departure many false Quarterbacks appeared. Brian Greasy, Jake Plummer who would inspire dreams but fall short of a man to lead the Broncos faithful to another Superbowl. But I believe that Jay Cutler will be the next one, who will bring the Broncos back to land of Superbowls and MVP's; and finally the place atop the NFL

I don't know about other people, and I think I have somewhat of a reputation around here of late -- but I simply enjoy debating my opinions with others on the internet, heatedly and decisively. Everything is amplified on the internet, and if you think that any group is different, then I think you need to reread the post you just wrote.

Your atheist friend isn't "conflicted" -- he doesn't want to fight with an authority figure, and is being honest with you. Why would he bother rocking the boat with someone who has power over him?

That straight line is so good I'm at a loss as to which people I should insult.

I don't know any atheists in real life and all that I have met over the years have been online, mostly through games. I have come to the conclusion that atheists really try to push their views onto you and bring you down for believing in God. I, as a Roman Catholic, don't go around parading my religion or views onto anyone. I respect peoples views and have a "to each and his own approach".

Actually I shouldn't say I don't know any in real life, I do, my friends younger brother who is in high school. He goes to an all guys Catholic school and my friend and I joke around that he is the anti-christ. I find that with him, he is young, filled with tons of thoughts/ideas, but at least in real life he is respectful to a certain extent. Online he does talk a bit of smack and try to bring me down, but I tell him I don't really care what his thoughts or opinions are on the subject. I also find it funny because he has a priest as his religion teacher who is a crazy smart bastard (I had him in high school also). He won't mention to the priest he is atheist, even though he attends class everyday and completes all the assignments, conflicted thoughts of a young mind I guess.

But going back to what I was saying, I find online atheists to be very degrading and pushy, as if they want you in the same boat as them. I understand that they probably had previous dealings with crazy religious fanatics (and I can only imagine how many of those exist in the USA with hundreds if not thousands of different congregations/religions), but not everyone is a religious fanatic trying to push their thoughts onto them. What I am trying to convey is that, not everyone is a fanatic. There are people like me who care as to whether you are atheist or not, but in terms of talking to you about it, I could give a rats ass, do what you want, people have to change on their own terms and not by someone elses.

In conclusion I just wish the online atheist community would stop talking so much shit, and the religious fanatics should settle down too, your pastor is probably an ex crack addict who claims he saw the light of God (my friends Spanish "Christian" church's is).

From experience the best way to get along is to not discuss religion with each other at all unless you know 100 % that it won't affect your relationship in any way. I have good close muslim friends, jewish friends, that I've known for years and not one of us has mentioned anything religious to each other. We all do our own thing and that's that.

The online community is whack /thread

At least Atheists don't come knocking on my door.
