The look on Don's face when Betty reveals the keys = priceless. I thought he was gonna piss/shit his pants and vomit all at the same time. John Hamm should get the Emmy just for Sunday night's episode alone.

I mean, dude is getting ass raped by this wife (one of the few times we've seen Don not fully in control) while his mistress is waiting for him in the car

And Roger, I actually gained a lot of respect for him in this episode.

Roger seems to have "grown up".

that episode floored me... so weird to see Betty actually taking an aggressive approach on something. I'm glad they didn't drag out the reveal.

It was amazing how she just kept digging into him, and slicing him up. Then, after learning about his secret, she actually started showing compassion for him -- at first I think it was because she felt pity for him, then I believe that she truly remembered that she actually does love Don.

And if you notice, the next morning during breakfast, even little Sally notices that her parents are being more cordial/affectionate towards each other and it startles her a bit.

I liked how Betty was trying to be subtle at the beginning when she asks Don for some cash and says "you don't have any money you can give me?" referring to the secret stash.

Then later after speaking with the lawyer she says "F it" and confronts Don about it.

The whole time during Don and Betty's confrontation we the viewers were left agonizing about whether Suzy in the car would do something crazy like come to the house. That part was just great.

I don't think teacher is THAT crazy. Remember, this is the early 60s... I don't think women stated going uber psycho when it comes to relationships the late 80s (think Fatal Attraction)

What I thought was interesting was what the lawyer said about divorce. Women didn't get shit back then.

I wasn't raised on a North American value therefore craps like that show bored the hell out of me too. Excessive consumerism is another twisted value that I disagree with American built into their "tradition" and holidays, such as Christmas, birthday, and buy now play later mentality.

IMHO, North American TV mentality is the most wasteful of resources that we all can do with out.

<--- No cable since 1992.

Enjoying the "North American value (sic)" intarwebs, though, aren't we?

Kickass season finale, really enjoyed it. Mrs. Draper is a fuckin wise and beautiful woman though.

Who is the Henry Francis guy anyway? What was he supposed to be? Just some aristocrat wise and beautiful woman? Don should flatten him next season.

But I'm already looking forward to next season.

I didn't know we were already at the last episode of the season, but damn, that was an amazing finale. Much different tone than the last 2 seasons.

Yea, that finale was awesome. Everything all led up to this point. Next season is basically, Mad Men - New and Improved. I for one can't wait to see how the new company works out, especially with the eventual arguments that will come up.

TehMac - Go back to the episode of Roger's wedding I believe (the blackface ep). Second or third ep this season? That's when Betty first met H.F. (and Don also met Hilton).

I don't think she got taken quickly. She even refused to get with H.F. when she visited his office.

I think her finding out about Don's past life put her over the edge.

H.F. also helped Betty with the community thing. I seriously thought Don was going to bounce her head off the floor this episode.

Man that was a great season finale. Everything will be new next one. The agency, Don's marriage (or lack thereof), him and Roger seem to be doing fine again. There was just a lot of dynamic changes this season.

Speaking of Roger, why did you guys gain a new respect for him? Maybe he changed a bit, but nothing that made me think he was a better guy.

I didn't, but maybe because he took a chance by agreeing to buy back SC. He could have just made bank and chilled for the next 30 years.

I'm reviving this dead thread because I just watched the finale on DVD. This show rocks to much ass for its own good.

I'm surprised so many people missed that Don engineered the sterling barf up. Its been awhile since I saw that episode, but I believe Sterling had gotten either gotten a little jealous of Don or had crapped on him for acting like he was better than Sterling (even though he isn't of course). Don had decided to give him a painful reminder that he is old and no longer in his prime.

Season 3 was probably my favorite season so far. I was wondering the whole time what was going to happen as all the main characters seemed to be pulling away from the ad agency as a result of the corporate raiders destroying the long term cohesion and morale of SC. We see the normally cool and calculating Don fall apart and become vicious when he loses his perception of control and power over his own life collapses. And yet, he eats crow all over the place in the end to salvage the only thing he cares about in life. Whether that is the result of the character growing to understand that other people were partially responsible for his success or just a desperate Don falling back on the unappetizing skill of ass kissing remains to be seen.

Some other people said they kind of like campbell and I have to agree. I considered him such a whiny ungrateful shit throughout the first season but I've finally started to understand him. He actually has some real talents, its just that they aren't the talents he wishes he had. He desperately wants to be an alpha badass, since his father and father in law were both successful businessmen at one point. He wants to make a name for himself even though he doesn't really need too. And he's frustrated because he just doesn't have the swagger for it.
